While Ram has not yet released information on the full 2027 Ram 1500 lineup, we do know the Ram TRX is making a comeback, rivaling the Ford F-150 Raptor R.
Ram’s high-performance V8 revival continues into 2027 with the return of the TRX. Not only is the TRX back for the first time since the 2024 model year, but the SRT (Street and Racing Technology) Performance division is back for the first time since 2021, and this is one of the first vehicles to come from it. It’s also the first SRT-branded Ram since 2006.
Pricing starts at $102,590, including a $2,595 destination fee. That’s only $2,360 more than the 2024 TRX’s starting price.
Like its TRX predecessor, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8. However, this 6.2-liter is all-new and produces 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. It has 75 more horsepower and 30 lb-ft more torque, making it the most powerful street-legal gas-powered production truck ever. Ram estimates the SRT TRX will go from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 118 mph. The engine is backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The new TRX’s suspension is an evolution of the systems in the 2021-2024 TRX and the current RHO. Active performance damping (Ram Active Terrain Dynamics) returns, and if it performs as it does in the RHO, it will smooth out the ride in the dirt, sharpen handling, and make the highway ride comfortable, thanks to its ability to respond to terrain changes in milliseconds. This system works with the second generation of the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, the same ones used in the RHO.
The SRT TRX has an independent front suspension with high-strength aluminum components and forged aluminum upper and lower control arms. In back, the 5-coil suspension is designed to keep the ride comfortable and allows for up to 14 inches of rear axle travel. The SRT TRX has 11.8 inches of ground clearance. It uses full-time 4-wheel drive and rides on 18-inch satin black wheels with 35-inch tires.
If you love the looks of the previous TRX and the RHO, you’ll be happy to know the new truck resembles both of them. Its styling is bolder than the RHO and picks up where the previous TRX left off. Consider the styling an evolution of the TRX, with new visual cues like a Flame Red “RAM” badge in the grille, matching red front and rear tow hooks, a new TRX logo on the tailgate, and SRT badging.
In addition, Ram has introduced the Bloodshot Night Edition, with the first two-tone design — black and red in this case — available for a TRX. It includes splash graphics and beadlock-capable wheels. Inside, this edition features carbon fiber trim with red accents, a center console badge under glass, and red-outlined TRX badging.
The SRT TRX comes standard with a leather interior with a suede headliner and accents, heated/ventilated/massaging front seats, and reclining rear seats. It also comes standard with dual wireless charging pads, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a head-up display.
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2026.
