Ride-sharing is any practice of two or more people sharing a vehicle headed to a common destination, such as a carpool. In practice, a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) business connects riders with drivers for a fee split between the driver and the ride-sharing company. Popular ride-sharing businesses include Lyft and Uber. See also ride-hailing.
