What Is a Rear Window Wiper?

2023 Wagoneer rear badge and wiper.

A rear window wiper is a mechanically driven device that can clear moisture from the rear window glass with its rubber or synthetic blade, usually in a large, half-circle swath from the bottom edge.

The rear window wiper carries a washer-fluid reservoir for dirtied glass. Vehicles like SUVs and vans with more vertically-inclined rear windows are most commonly seen with a rear wiper. See also automatic windshield wipers.
