Automatic high-beam headlights adjust to changes in ambient light levels, switching on and off as needed. When driving in darkness, a sensor activates the headlights’ high beams. The headlights revert to low-beam illumination when the sensor detects approaching traffic, either oncoming or ahead. See also Adaptive Headlights.
