What Owners are Saying About the 2003 Volvo XC90
"The Epitome of a Volvo"
"In 2003, my family made the best decision of our lives. We bought our silver XC90 brand new and will never get rid of it. In the 17 years that we have owned this fantastic piece of machinery, it has needed no major repairs. The interior could definitely use some work, but this has been our workhorse of a vehicle: school drop off, hauling, moving, you name it. This tank truly showcases Volvo's superior safety and reliability, where some people only get rid of theirs because they get bored with their model. I think the only "major" thing we needed to do was change the timing belt at 110k. Yes, we only have about 152k miles and it's been with us for almost 20 years, but it still has the same power and fierceness it did in its first year. Heck, we love this car so much, we bought a 2nd one, a 2018 Inscription! Youngest is taking it as a commuter to college for the next few years. If you ever come across one, a 5 cylinder only, avoid the original T6 until around the 2008 "facelift" version, we highly recommend you check it out and buy one for yourself :)"
"Amazing in Snow"
"Buy this Vehicle for your family's safety if you live in the snow or ice. Three blizzards in Colorado, towed our Volvo S60 R to California over 14,000 foot Rockies, after 81,000 miles the car is still going strong. Buy the extended warrentee: many repairs needed cost only $100 per deductable. Two engine mounts, propeller shaft (drive shaft), new rack & Pinion Steering. Gyroscope under driver's seat is amazing and the STC sensors on the wheels. The result: it is impossible to put this car into a skid in snow. . . believe me I tried. The antio skid system puts the right amount of braking and reduced the engine power to straighten out the car! During one of the three Blizzards of 2006/2007 we passed dozens of stranded cars, trucks, and even a police officer stuck at an intersection. Get studless snow tires with ground up Walnut Shells (Blizex) and it stops even on black ice! Amazing. Now we live in California and enjoy sun every day and our 7 month old has plenty of room for her car seat and baby equipment. Bottom line: great car, some repairs needed, but I was surprised to see all of the people's complaints about repairs -- just like humans cars need a little investment. I will go with a Volvo again."
"Volvo never disappoints!"
"Safest tank I've ever driven. Solid. Dependable SUV. Plush ride. Newer Michelin tires. Ignition coils and fuel injectors recently replaced. Regular service through reputable mechanic. He suggests radiator needs to be replaced soon. Apparently the 2005 and 2006 FWD are bulletproof."
