Positive Review
Bought this when the model was first introduced. 25K plus miles later this is still one great car! The ride is a little softer than I normally like, but the handling is very nimble. The interior layout is very easy to understand. Minor complaints: no auto-tailgate opening, no tailgate release from the inside, and no spare tire (not even a doughnut!). It does take a little getting used to the E-Drive, but once you do, the mileage is really nice. City handling is great, the car performs exceptionally well on secondary roads, and it is a highway star on the superslab. No, it is not going to snap you neck with acceleration, but there is no lack of power either. Four adults, luggage and a steep hill pose no problems for the horses under the hood. You can sure spend a lot more money on one of the competing higher end brands, but I do not think you will get that much more satisfaction!
Critical Review
Purchased a 2015.5 Volvo V60 eight months ago. Went to a family funeral in July, went to pull out into major heavy traffic and pressed gas and nothing. Finally engaged in traffic by banging into gear hard. Brought it in, complete transmission failure. After picking car up, went on second long trip with this car and car shifter was very loose-was backing up and car ended up in neutral all by itself. I'm afraid to drive with my autistic son in the car, as I need to be so careful pulling out into traffic as I never know if I will have such a lag before the transmission engages, I'm afraid to get into an accident. Over the weekend, I couldn't keep up with a Ford Focus at normal traveling speed. This car has a mind of it's own. Took Service Mgr out who said things were not normal, but low and behold when I pick it up, they find nothing. There are YouTube video's on this failure. Poor design, not worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unsatisfied single mom in CT

Bulletproof motor in a small wagon delivering 325 ponies & nearly 360 ft.lbs. of gutsy torque from the legendary incline six cylinder engine to all four wheels making for an exhilarating driving impression (for a family station wagon) that will leave a smile on your face. Slap on a pair of snow tires and you’ll find yourself maneuvering through a foot of snow better than your neighbors Subaru. Seats provide 600miles of comfort for the long hauls and gas mileage to me is irrelevant given anyone able to afford the sticker price. Just be mindful about maintaining your Volvo by certified Volvo techs. An oil change will run you a minimum $250. This car will have minor problems as all Volvo have their quirks, but they will save your life as their safety is second to none. I’ve seen Volvos well beyond the 300k mile mark. I’d buy again after four years of ownership but I’m also a Volvo nerd having owned five.
I almost send to the shop to repair every a couple months . Burning oil , engine light on . Reduce engine performance sign on …, and the cylinder just need replace it for $9,200 and the car worth $5,000 . After I owed v60 I will never buy any Volvo again . Not reliable at all and resell value drops like Rock .
Seats are comfortable. Very quick
Hasn't been an issue, but it has no dipstick.
Very fun to drive - lots of pep. Great handling. My is eight years old and everybody think it's new.
Great Handling, Fun to Drive, Lots of cargo space
Expensive to maintain, Smaller than the Volvo V90
We have now had our 2018 V60 Volvo Station Wagon for a year. Volvo station wagons used to be plentiful and cool, however sales have been cannibalized by their SUVs. Even the small SUVs, and we've driven those from half-a-dozen manufacturers, have a truck-like feel. The V60 drives almost like a sports car. It sits low to the ground, has comfortable leather seats, and has a 240HP engine that provides more than adequate power. It does well in mountain twistys and on interstate in heavy traffic. It goes exactly where you steer it with a degree of precision that no SUV we have driven can match. Of course, it has room for lots of cargo, but most important, it is fun to drive.
Will not experience a smooth ride, offers a hard ride,, need to insert key in ignition to start, unable to pop the trunk at any distance at 100% performance , air conditioner maximum cooling is a “low”comparable to their competition.
A blast to drive and great gas mileage.
Small back seating area.
With just over 100K miles on my Volvo V60 it has been a reliable and gas efficient vehicle. The most comfortable car I have ever owned and "knock on wood" has not left me stranded. Routine maintenance is all my V60 has ever needed. Have not experienced a high dollar repair cost as of yet. She is fun to drive and cheap to maintain.
Realible
Back seat spacing is limited.
Excellent gas mileage, averages 29 mpg highway at 70~75 mph. Averages 23 mpg city driving. Comfort is an understatement. Sitting in this V60 cruising the highway for hours on end will put you to sleep if you are not careful. Just turned 100K miles with "zero" mechanical issues. Safety features are top notch. I love my Volvo V60 and hope it lasts for the next 200K miles plus.
Style, comfort, has mileage
A couple of recalls
Bought certified used with low miles. Has been a joy to drive and no issues. One recall outstanding but Volvo has been very good at communication. After driving a Jetta wagon for several years this was a step up in luxury for me and couldn’t be happier. Very nice ride, great gas mileage and comfortable for me. Don’t need an suv as this wagon has the space I need. OEM tires have been ok, but will need to be replaced this summer. Certified warranty is long enough to see me to the 100k miles and expect to have smooth sailing on past that.
