Positive Review
So far at 100K with my 2006 T5 I have had a small amount of issues. ABS module is faulty, O2 sensor went bad. However randomly the car doesn't want to work. Once the car died in the middle of the highway, once in a parking garage, and once it wouldn't start at all. The first time we towed the car to the local Volvo dealer, they ran every test they could and could find no issues, the car started right up for them. Essentially we paid $180 for a mediocre car wash. Besides those issues the car has been a blast to drive, with plenty of room for passengers and luggage. Great acceleration and breaking power but one heck of a turning radius (larger than an Escalade). Love the car, but just too much of a hassle in the long term.
Critical Review
I stupidly gave up my 07 honda civic with 57,000 miles on it for a dilapidated, falling apart inside and out 08 Volvo S60. I idiotically trusted someone I thought was my friend. They said my Honda was junk. Next day after having traded cars I wanted my Honda back but was told THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT ANYMORE!....DO NOT EVER BUY A VOLVO. HAS TON OF MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND IS A WASTE OF GAS!

Fun to drive, Gas Mileage, reliability, comfort
Turn radius
I purchased a 2009 2.5t AWD s60 with 55k miles last year. Was about nervous for paying 12k for this car with it being 12 years old at the time. 14k miles later and two 2 thousand mile trips, it continues to drive consistently, reliably, and comfortably. Would definitely recommend this vehicle! Has a good look and will surprise you with the power it has forsure.
It's a fun car to drive love the sun roof
It's a really good car good on gas love the sun roof very comfortable plenty of room and in the trunk Smith ride
The 2006 S60 T5 is overall a very well-rounded car. It offers the perfect balance of luxurious features and styling and brisk acceleration with a super strong, unique engine. The styling of the S60 is gorgeous; it looks sleek and sporty. The entire car is styled great, and every portion of the car works together. I strongly believe that the P2 S60 is the best looking sports sedan out there and looks much better than the competition. The interior is luxurious and of great quality. The interior is very high quality and has a good design that flows with the car and is unique Scandinavian design. The build quality is amazing for a 15 year old car, and I overall love Volvo’s interior design. The car’s high-pressure turbocharger with the T5 pulls the car through every gear and provides constant power from every gear. The S60 is very brisk. However, it does have some turbo lag and can be slow to downshift at times. The S60 is fun and always provides more than adequate passing power and regular driving power. The handling is good; the car never understeers and is very direct. The steering feels heavy, which keeps the car very stable at any speed and keeps the car directly on the road always. However, the steering is quite heavy and the radius is not very good. The car drives bigger than it is. The car handles good though, and is always stable. The steering of the car flows with very action. The S60 is also very smooth and rides quietly; even on very rough surfaces, the car smooths out the road. The transmission of the car is generally smooth and effective. It holds gears very well and shifts smoothly through the gears. When downshifting, the gears hold the car back and slow it down exceptionally well. However, the transmission can be slow to down shift and does have shift flares. My S60 has shift flares and can slam into gear sometimes. I have also put a lot of money into the car and maintenance. It is a high-maintenance car at times, but it’s an older luxury car that was exceptionally advanced and sophisticated for its time. The S60 was ahead of its time from the start. The safety features, luxury features and design were very advanced for its time.
Leakage but unsure of what is leaking and a knock in the lower part of the motor. Still runs and drives
Fun to drive
Cover from seat controls missing
Only cosmetic issues. Car runs great
Comfortable, low maintenance.
Wide turn radius.
I have owned the car since 2009. It has required minimum maintenance and has never given me a problem. The car has never been in an accident.
Nice interior, fun to drive, great trunk space
No Bluetooth, expensive to fix, difficult to clear
I bought my 2009 Volvo s60 in 2016 with just over 70,000 miles on it. It has been in the shop once and was roughly $700 plus new tires, and oil changes are about $85 every 4 to 6 months. I have maintained it well. It needs a timing belt and water pump soon and that will roughly run $1000. I paid about $10,500 for it at the time. I have had it for 4 yours. It is a fun car to drive. Its quick and stylish. The interior is very nice and still is after 11 years. The car is in great condition inside and out. It makes me sick that it is only worth $2,800 trade in right now. So value I only gave a 3 because it doesn't make sense that they are expensive to buy and fix and you definitely dont get any value from keeping up on it. I will not buy a Volvo again because of the price they are to fix, and maintain. Sadly I'm in the market for a newer car and I owe more on this than they will give me.
No PROS
Only giving 1 star as opposed to zero, wont let me
