Positive Review
I've had my C40 for about a month now. I am loving the 400 hp. Merging into traffic has never been so fun. Given all of the safety features, I had a nice surprise when I put it on my insurance. The cost was lower than what I pay for my 2014 H0nda. The only downsides so far are a Google Assistant who seems to be on break half the time, and a snafu with the air conditioning. It's only happened once, but after having parked the car for an hour in direct sunlight on a 91 degree day, the air would not work for the ride from there to my next destination. It worked fine before and after, just not for that trip.
Critical Review
This car has been towed twice now within the first 7 days of buying it new. It doesn’t recognize the key and the dash board goes dark.

Sleek look.
Terrible ride. Not intuitive in the cavin.
Drove one for a week. The layout and digital controlls are not intuitive in any way. The handling is rough and very “bouncy”. Ou feel every bump in the road. The inside is quiet and steering is nice and tight. Had a difficult time charging the first time. Seats are somewhat hard. As for visual safety, a lot of blind spots and the back window is difficult to see in the rear view mirror due to its small size. The outside design is appealing and sleek. In no way would I pay $55-$60k for this car. It does however have potential.
Excellent car
apple car play is not wireless
Good compact SUV, it handles very well, very dynamic, it is very comfortable and has a good sound system and very accurate with the range of autonomy.
Audio system, comfort, acceleration
Nothing significant
The Volvo C40 offers the combination of a powerfully efficient electric powertrain, packaged in a sporty design with a respectable ground clearance. I also appreciate Volvo's reputation for safety and the C40's solid sound system. I've loved every minute of driving my C40. It's a comfortable, quick car, and it has proven to be very reliable. I am a bit of an audiophile, and I love the sound system, which was superior to the competing vehicle that I test drove. I appreciate the convenience of never having to physically manipulate any controls in order to turn the vehicle on or off. When I have the key in my pocket, I can simply sit in the driver's seat and shift into drive or reverse and the car is ready to move. When I place the car in park and exit, the car turns itself off. The infotainment system is nice, but not overly sophisticated. I enjoy being able to say, "Hey, Google," then operate the climate control, send text messages, make phone calls, utilize GPS navigation, and more. I find that it's just right for making the driving experience easier and more enjoyable. There have been a number of rare occasions (less than five) when I had to reset the infotainment system due to anomalies on the screen that did not affect driving; however, this process is simple and I am able to do it while I continue to drive. Some people complain about the range of this vehicle, but in reality it has not been an issue for me. Buyers need to know what their typical daily mileage is. If it's close to half of the stated range (or more) I would be a bit apprehensive about buying. In my situation, my daily mileage is less than a quarter of this vehicle's range. I've never had issues. Even on a rare long distance drive, I was able to find a DC charge to get me back on the road in short order. I love my C40, and would highly recommend it to others.
Futuristic body style, safe, strong, fun to drive
Only 230 miles, ok dashboard , ok Volvo app
Great style and brilliant body, sting engine, robust build, fast, please to drive, safe with many standard options. Wish to have more miles, an upgraded dashboard

We had a 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge. We loved it so much (16,000 issue free miles in 7 months) that we just had to get the C40. I am not sure if it is saving the planet or not....our family just knows that it is WONDERFUL to drive and that we all want our turn behind the wheel. Our first Volvo experiences have been so far,so good.

I received my Volvo C40 recharge after ordering it several months ago. I am at the beginning of my ownership but have to say that not a day has gone by that I don't look forward to driving it. In traffic I'm fully relaxed, great ride and a wonderful sound system. This past weekend I took a drive from Los Angeles to Palm Springs and I couldn't remember the last time I felt so comfortable. I then took a detour to Idyllwild just to test how the C40 handled in the mountains ... it was solid and a lot of fun. The C40 recharge is a fantastic coupe and I'm happy to have selected over the Tesla Y and the Polestar 2. Test drive all three of these and see for yourself.
