"really 91 940 SE"

Hard to find any of this model. It's a 91 960 with the turbo 4. KBB doesn't list it. All of the options from it's day. Car has been meticulously cared for and maintained. Converted to R134 AC. All maintenance done. Getting older and 209000 miles with only regular maint and repairs for that many miles. Retiring and buying a new car.

My Volvo is a 1996 960 wagon, still going strong.
Pros

Great visibility and fits into tight spaces.

Cons

No one should buy a grey car in WA St, just-sayin.

I drive the same vintage Volvo 960 wagon that Paul Newman raced. My Volvo 960 is an awesome car, unless I'm on ice. Every now and then, I get asked about selling my car. The answer is always the same...No! During the time I've owned my gold and fully loaded 960, my work mates have owned multiple cars and are always thinking and dreaming about their next cars. When so many cars on the road looks like a clones of other cars, my car stands out, unless I'm parked in a shopping mall parking lot. Then sometimes, since my car is a sleek lowrider, I might not be able to see exactly where my car is parked, in a sea of vehicles including SUVs and Trucks, etc., but the key fob communicates with my car so it's pretty easy to not get too concerned. My adult son also drives a Volvo. And on one dark and snowy night, he and his buddy front seat passenger, suffered a head on collision with a similar make and model Volvo, when they collided on an icy mountain road. Both cars were considered totaled. Thankfully, all four passengers walked away, shaken and likely in shock but alive. This was due, in large part, to Volvo's crash engineering technology, where in head-on collisions the engine is driven under the passenger compartment rather than into the driver and passengers. After the accident, the only thing salvageable where the floor mats. We were able to replace the vehicle with the same but newer make and model car that was totaled.

This car is Bulletproof
Pros

Low cost of ownership, overall reliability.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind

I purchased this wagon with nearly 250k miles for $1,200 in Jan.2017. It has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. The drivetrain is still smooth & quiet, no rattles or knocking. It still delivers about 20mpg/City 27mpg/HWY. This example is fully optioned and the only items not working after 21 years are the moonroof and 1of the seat heaters. The clear coat is failing but I won’t be respraying it. It’s my 1st Volvo but will not be my last, I plan to buy a 4WD wagon or SUV model as the 960 is not great in the snow.

Why you need one asap!!
Pros

Classic,reliable,quality built,very fun daily

Cons

Lazy transmission,no cup holders, light rear end

It's a great car to daily and I have 2 of them incase one fails but the first one has not yet to to fail and it looks very different from any car on the road and feels like the best car u can drive and surprise many people by the the amount of torque and power the engine has but sadly the transmission is lack luster. The smaller size of the car makes it easy to avoid obstacles and has ALOT OF SPACE,so if u want a safe, classic, fast, non rusting, sofa feeling seats, relible daily under $1500 buy one asap if u can ride one.

1 Great little car
Pros

solid car, dependable, great ride, love it

Cons

none

I bought mine used. It had all service records of repairs and general maintance that showed me that it had been taken care of by the original owner. I have done maintance, tires, battery amd brakes in the last 5 years with no other problems. I could not be happier with any other car and I feel safe in it since it is built so solid.
