Too many minor failures, door locks, rear seat fold downs, poor paint etc. Uses premium fuel and oil. Miles per gallon too low. But looks good, drives great and is comfortable. With back seats down, trunk is huge but one seat will not unlock and fold.

NEVER BUY A VOLKSWAGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too expensive to maintain; I bought my car in 2013 and have had to buy an engine, timing chain and the dashboard light(s) are constantly flashing on: EPC, engine light and light that comes on to represent tire(s) are under inflated--this car is exasperating, annoying, infuriating and otherwise NOT worth the money that I have put in it. I would suggest to anyone WHO is thinking of buying a VW: caveat emptor AND look at other cars without the initials VW.

Loved my passat but after having oil change drove home from mechanic parked and caught fire who fault mechanic or is there a defect

I bought this car used with 75000 miles.paid cash. Based on experience with a hyundai I expected some problems. Seems every year something had to be fixed. Am a realist about cars and with cost of new cars so high I understand but as a retired on a limited budget I am now between a rock and hard place Keep this and pray or buy a used be making payments and still pay for repairs.

Did not notice noises? -- some hearing loss
I am sad to give this car up. I was the only driver; I am a retired senior choosing not to drive any longer. I am a very active volunteer in our senior center, utilizing one of our city's programs for seniors who no longer drive. My vision, hearing are still good, my adult children live near. All recalled items, repairs have been done by dealership where I purchased this vehicle.
