What Owners are Saying About the 1994 Volkswagen Jetta III
"Most reliable I have ever owned"
"I found a great mechanic (I bought the car with a known fuel 'leak' problem that turned out to be relatively simple to fix. Mechanic explained that these cars need a 'makeover' around 100.000 miles and then they are good to go again. Gutsy, handles Parley's Canyon like a walk in the park (slows a little near the top, but hey, who doesn't?) Manual trans, manual windows. I made trips regularly to Calif and back without a problem. Some oil leakage, again minor problem (hoses). Clutch replacement is about par for cost. Avg mpg: 30 (about 35 hiway). Not the most current styling and because of all the long distance driving (I am pretty hard core, do not get out of the car much once in it), the comfort can be compromised. Now have about 175,000 miles on it: put on over 50,000 since I purchased 11/05. Don't wanna replace her, she is just too good!"
"Good for a short period"
"I have had my Jetta for almost 7 years now, and for the first 3 or 4 years it was working just fine for me. In the past 3 years, it's been a nightmare! There is always something wrong with it one minute and then the next it's fine! The body of the car is now very worn and rusted, and so I won't be able to trade it in for much!"
"love it!"
"Not only is this my favorite body style for the Jetta, but this car is amazing. These engines are truly built to last, as well as the other Volkswagen parts. The only issues I have had with this vehicle are normal wear and tear issues, and even then, this car is very reliable. I am also quite impressed by the gas mileage I get. Even being 15 years old, the car runs like a dream!"
