"Love this car. First and only true car I have owned. great engine, interior is decent on GL's, easy to work on if you have the time and tools. Will never get rid of this car. Would recommend to anyone that knows what they are doing. Car will be a classic, just give it time."

"This is a really sturdy car, if the owner follows the recommended maintenance schedule it is unstoppable. Parts are cheap, the car is easy to work on, I replaced a starter, shocks, battery and re-charged the AC 1993 will have 134a ac. Drove it 160K miles until I got a company car. I was the original owner. It's not a beautiful car, practical reliable daily driver. Takes abuse and does not complain. Original designed by Audi, sold to Volkswagen then made in Brazil for sale in US. 1993 last year made. Good years 1991 to 1993."

"These are great cars for their class. VERY reliable and quite powerful for a stock 90hp 8V 1.8 The CIS KE injection flows very well and helps the engine take modifications well. The 9A manual trans in the GL sport models low gear ratio makes for a sporty driving feel and is considered "bulletproof". As with all VWs small interior parts come lose and leave and the window regulators go out But every make/model has it issues. All though if your kinda tall like me 6' it might be easier to take out the front seat and sit in the back."
