What Owners are Saying About the 2018 Volkswagen e-Golf
"2017 e-Golf is the perfect around-town car"
"I can not understand why more people do not purchase electric vehicles in general, or the e-Golf in particular. The newest iteration adds a decent kick to the battery, making it such so that I only need to charge about once a week. Granted, I only drive between 15-20 miles a day, but unless you have a long commute, you probably do not drive much more than that either. Combined with an older, internal combustion engine vehicle in our family, this car is the economical, environmentally-friendly schlepper for going to the store, getting to work, and taking our son to and from school. And the drive in doing all of these activities is quiet, smooth, and refined. One doesnt appreciate the quiet of an electric vehicle until actually driving one, and having driven this car for about a month I am still astounded by this quality. The ride quality in this car is astounding for a small car. One doesnt feel the bumps as one might expect. The weight distribution and low center of gravity gives this car great handling in all driving situations. And having spent a bit of time in the Chevy Bolt (before I purchased the e-Golf), I appreciate the quality materials and fine finish on the interior. One feels like they are in a much more expensive car. The look on the outside of the car is rather understated, but I like that about the e-Golf. It doesnt scream, Look at me! Others may find the look rather drab, so the Nissan Leaf or Chevy Bolt might be more to their liking. With the Level II charger installed in our garage, I can go from no charge to full in about 3 1/2 hours. The standard 120-volt wall outlet will suffice, but only if you have the patience for the 22-hour charge time. I recommend the investment in the Level II charger; its worth the convenience over the long haul. As long as the 7500 federal tax subsidy stays in place, this is a very affordable vehicle and totally serviceable for most driving needs for most people."
"Best car I have ever driven, precise, solid, quiet"
"Car is excellent although not gorgeous and latest tech design but great to move around. Not for long distance travel. No gas bills and drives beautifully. Best car ever if one is not particular about looks. Real sporty feel."
"Fun to drive, quick, high quality"
"Drives like a bigger car yet easy to park and maneuver. Excellent build quality, interior design and handling. There is nothing not to like unless you want or need a larger car or need to drive longer distances than the limited single charge range of about 105 miles (depending on how heavy your foot is). We do also own a gasoline powered car but use the e-Golf for almost all of our travel within 50 miles. Our lease is up next month; we intend to keep our e-Golf."
