"Best Truck for the Money"

We purchased our 2010 Toyota Tundra SR5 TRD-OffRoad Double cab in Salsa Red Metallic in June of 2009. Our truck features the new-for-2010 4.6L V8. After nearly six years and 120,000 miles, I can assure you that this is one of the most sound automotive investments you can make. There has not been a single issue with the truck-ever. With routine servicing (oil change every 10k miles etc), I have no reason to believe this truck won't go for another 120k. The 4.6 V8 offers an excellent blend of power and fuel economy. I average just under 18 MPG and the truck has no issue with power in any situation. Out on the highway, the Tundra rides comfortably at any speed and passes with ease. The SR5 package provides an excellent blend of creature comforts at an affordable price. In 2009, bluetooth, USB, and a telescoping steering wheel couldn't be found at just north of $30k anywhere else but in the Tundra. Storage space is abundant. In any situation, the Tundra has exceeded expectations. Be it family hauling, road tripping, or any other activity a crew cab truck could be put up to, the Tundra will provide you with years of capable reliability. I plan on purchasing another Tundra once I pass the 2010 off to my son.

VS

Critical Review

"Don't buy!"

My truck came with a horrible exhaust drone. Have spent over $500 to date to help eliminate the drone. Was giving me migraines and nausea. Dealer said they were all like this so Toyota did not see it as a problem. Told me to go away and not come back. Toyota knows about the problem. Have told over 30 people not to buy a Tundra. Next thing to do to deal with drone is sound absorbing undercoat or trade in and take a bath on the trade in. Again, don't buy a Tundra. Last note, cup holders won't hold a regular coffee cup, only tapered coffee mugs.

Sturdy and Reliable

I'm no stranger to Toyota's reliability, however after purchasing my Tundra I am thrilled with the truck's performance and condition for it being a 2011. I'm not someone that needs day to day towing power or bed space, however the comfort of a full sized pickup is great.

Powerful and reliable V8
Pros

Reliability, ease of self maintenance, cost of maintenance/repairs, power and torque, large center console with tons of storage, spacious cab

Cons

Base package is simple, not so great mpg

Bought this truck a month ago and love the way it drives and the torque it provides in low gears. I have heard about the 5.7L V8 being the million mile Tundra engine and I hope it can make it there because I’m sold on Toyotas.

Know what you may get into
Pros

Lots of power!

Cons

The cam phaser tower will leak at least once guaranteed!

Love the truck except that the cam phaser tower seals are just RTV instead of real gaskets. Buyer beware of a burning oil smell. It’s thousands to fix but the truck is awesome otherwise. This is a known issue that Toyota will not fix.

2013 Tundra
Pros

Well built will run forever

Cons

Loves gas lol

I bought a 2013 tundra a few months ago ago, these trucks are a beast. This truck has 203000 miles on it and runs perfectly. These trucks will go a million miles no problem if the maintenance is kept up. Read the story of the guy who had 2 tundras, one with a million miles and the other with several hundred thousand miles. Toyota bought the one back from him with the million miles to get into the motor and see how this was accomplished.

BAD APP
11/21/2024
not that great review

This app does not give a very good true review of the value of your vehicle. There is NO place to enter all the extras you might have added to your vehicle. Whether you added them yourself, or through the dealer, or a reputable custom shop. A lot of these things add more value to your vehicle than what is stated. This website is hard to use, not letting you just get the value. Instead it wants to sell your vehicle or trade it in. Some questions dont even apply to most vehicles. How are we supposed to get a good quote on the true value if we cannot put in everything the right way????

Best vehicle I've ever owned
Pros

style, dependability

Cons

tow weight

The only and I mean only reason I'm not getting another Tundra is because I need a bigger truck to pull more weight for work. If Toyota made a one ton or bigger I'd be all over it. This truck has been beyond dependable. I'm proud to drive a vehicle so well engineered.
