What Owners are Saying About the 1997 Toyota Tercel
"loved my turtle!"
"Best car I ever owned. I bought it with a blown up motor, my brother re-built it and she never left me stranded on the side of the road. I commuted in this car, BEST gas mileage ever! I would still be driving her if a lady didn't rear end me and total it yesterday! RIP TERCEL"
"Long term reliability"
"I started driving this car at 125K miles, now at 234K. The car still drives like a dream. I drive a fair amount of gravel and rough pavement every day and the car still holds alignment for many years at a time. I changed out shocks at ~180K and both front half-shafts at ~170K and ~195K and had the timing belt changed at 215K. No other large maintenance really performed. This is unbelievable to me. The car loses a little oil now (pan gasket) but still averages 39-40mpg day in-day out. Problems are non-existent. I am a big guy and the seats are holding up almost like new. They are very comfortable for 1-2 hour drives, but start to lose a bit on longer trips. All in all a wonderful car and I would buy another in a heartbeat."
"Just keeps going."
"I bought this 95 Tercell 4 years ago and it had 140,000 miles on it. I just drive it around town. I now have 180,000 miles on it, I change the oil once a year, put a battery in it, and it just keeps running and running and running. IM AMAZED!!"
