Positive Review
The revamped 2021 Sienna missed the mark for the minivan market. It seems Toyota was trying to turn the look of the Sienna into one of their SUVs. What they appear to not realize is that people who are willing to buy a minivan have already come to grips with the fact that they are going to be driving a minivan. Toyota decreased interior cargo space by lowering the roof and canting in the sides. What is the point of the minivan if you're going to decrease the interior volume? The center bridge console also doesn't do anything for me...it makes it more awkward in the front, and feels more cramped. The biggest change for the worse is the ground clearance. We drive a 2014 Sienna and took it over roads and potholes that only full size trucks and SUVs could make it over. I'm hesitant to believe that the new, lower Sienna would perform as well. Unfortunately, the Sienna is only minivan on the market in AWD. So, for now, we are stuck with the Sienna. I just hope that they are able to fix these issues soon...or Honda decides to make the Odyssey in AWD.
Critical Review
I currently own 2 Sienna (2004 and 2017). Love them both in different ways. I am 70 years old and wanted to buy one more new sienna before moving on. We decided to wait for the newly styled 2021. Once they were released in late 2020, I found out they were hybrid only. I personally was disappointed in that option as I still wanted a new version of my 2017. If Toyota would have announced ahead of time, I would have bought a new 2020 which by now are gone. Last week we decided to go look at the 2021. Got the keys, opened the door to get and hit my head on the roof line. I thought what the "F". Lowered the seat, put back all the way. Re-entered the car and hit the roof line again. Only way in is to tilt your head down before entering. That sucks. I am 6 foot tall. Once in, I felt confided. The middle bridge is weird. Noticed the 2 glove boxes are gone which we used all the time. I really can't comment on it after that as I never test drove it due to the fact I could not easily get in the car. I believe Toyota limited the market here.

Hybrid, moonroof, tan interior, lowered floor for higher interior room, both front seats are removable and the EZ lock system is under the passenger seat. The electric wheelchair can come with the van, it is a F3 Permobile top of the line that has the bolt for the lock, it also raises and lowers. The van also has the kneeling system to make it easier and safer to enter and exit. It also has the safety features for the wheelchair. Both side doors are electric sliding. It has rear air/heat. The rear Hatch is touch button to open and close. The doors and rear can be opened and closed with the remote or inside buttons. PASSENGER front door has control buttons for the auto ramp. This is not all the options it has and it is top of the line, very clean and maintained.
8 passenger
No automatic rear door
Found a used Toyota Sienna that was right on my budget, and the people at the Toyota dealership were so helpful.

Accelerating/braking issues
We purchased a 2021 Sienna Platinum when the new model came out. For the first 35,000 miles or so my wife and I had no complaints. It hauls our family of 4 + luggage and everything else with no issues. I've put 12' pieces of lumber in it with no issue. But after 35,000 miles we are starting to have problems. The biggest issue is the van will cut power to the engine/battery and won't move when pulling out into intersections. Reading about this on other forums it seems to be an issue with the auto braking system. To note - when I brought this up to the dealer during an oil change no issues were identified. My wife and I have had multiple instances where the van starts moving into an intersection about 20 feet and will then "think" there is a potential issue and will cut power. It has left me (with our two kids in the backseat) sitting in the middle of an intersection and pressing the gas pedal doesn't do anything. This generally last a few seconds but is certainly an issue. Most recently when coasting to a stop (while on battery mode) the van lurched forward and almost rear ended the car in front. The auto collision, which is sensitive, even when toned down, didn't go off. If it weren't for these issues, we would hold onto the car for many more years, but it's now become a safety hazard.

Would be nice to have 8 passenger in all trims
Our 2024 Limited has been a wonderful car so far. It drives smoothly in the 98% of the time you aren't accelerating hard, is quiet on the highway, has reasonable pickup, and gets outstanding MPG. We averaged 40 MPG both ways this weekend on a mulit-hour trip to the beach at highway speed fully loaded up and have been getting about 38.5 combined. The front seat area is really well designed and the kids really love the long slide seats and comfortable second row. Cargo space is excellent and the controls are very easy. It isn't perfect though. It would be nice to have an 8 seat option in all trims and the screens are low resolution. That though is a small complaint. While driving who cares about how fancy a screen is when you are getting double the city MPG of the V6 competition?
The van has been awesome. We have the Limited trim and it's very comfy. We've had no issues with the drive itself, and our kids love riding in it. Our only complaint is that some of the cupholders are smaller than others, so bigger cups may not fit in them. Would highly recommend this vehicle though!

As of right now 51,000 miles and going str8 haven't had any issues, the van offers us everything we need
Great car for the most part. All the conveniences are as advertised. My only complaints are that some of the abundant cup holders are not for grown-up cups and we had an issue where the interior lights weren't turning on. But overall love our vehicle.
