The dependable 2019 Toyota Prius is a boldly styled hybrid offering great value, safety and features. The roomy interior will surprise you, as will the impressive fuel-economy figures. A new all-wheel-drive option makes the Prius a winter must-have.
If you find the Prius’ look to be a bit too futuristic, you can find equally capable hybrids with a more traditional design in the Hyundai Ioniq, Chevy Volt or even the larger Toyota Camry. The Prius isn’t terribly quick or powerful, nor is it much fun to drive. Apple CarPlay isn’t available yet, and Android Auto probably never will be.
