What Owners are Saying About the 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser
"Ode to an old friend, and legend"
"How do you say goodbye to a vehicle that kept your entire family safe, comfortable, and happy for nearly 20 years, and 330,000mi's,? When your son drove off the edge of that mountain road; when it got hit from behind by a vehicle that was totaled (and all the LC needed was a new back bumper); that never required any maintenance other than routine oil changes, timing belts, etc.; that drove better in deep snow on dirt tracks than most vehicles drive on dry pavement; that let me hear every dang word of every one of my wife's cell conversations because it is so dang quiet inside; that pulled a 4-WD pick-up out of a snow ditch that itself was pulling a flat-bed trailer loaded with two snowmobiles; that trailered a heavy, 22', triple-coated, stern-drive Sea Ray to the lake countless times without so much as a whimper. How? You go to the dealer, buy a brand new, loaded Highlander, hate it so much that less than a year later you go back to the dealer and trade-in your mistake for a new LC. That's how. Knowing that your mistake cost you a lot of $$, but having the peace of mind that you will once again own the very best vehicle money can buy. Knowing that it will probably outlast your ability to get your license renewed. And while you're at the dealership you quietly keep looking around to see if the old beast is still on the lot, or at least hoping that it found a good home."
"Multi-Terrain"
"This is one awsome truck. with close to 14000 miles on it, the darn thing keeps running. All I've done is regular maintenance: brakes, tires, batter, and regular oil change. After almost 10 years the engine is still powerful and runs smoothly. From the sand dunes of the Emirates to the flood striken waters of hurricane IKE this car has performed marvelously. Imagine this: terrantual rain pouring, 8 people in my cruiser... flooding every where... other cars floating... but the Cruiser kept to it's pedigree and smoothly traversed the choppy waters to safely get my family home. Highly recommend!!!"
"16 years of ownership"
"This vehicle is the opposite of a lemon. I have spent so little money on repairs and it is a joy to own. I never "covet" another car and could not bear to part with this one. Tires last over 60,000 miles. It tows famously. If you ever have a chance to buy one, don't hesitate."
