Does not hold it's value very well. The v-6 is one of the biggest problems. Not many people looking for a suv with a v6 now days. Costly repairs, exspensive for maintenance. Not very comfortable on long road trips. We traded our vehicle for a new truck that holds a better value.

Well known UA80 transmission failures affecting several year models (in and out of warranty) of Highlander. Current Nationwide backorder (several hundred transmissions) status for replacement transmissions with estimated customer wait times of several months. Owners have vehicles still valued at $25k plus and can't sell due to bad transmission and can't fix/drive for several months due to massive backorder status.

I was able to search for cars with specific features and narrow my search down to a handful of cars . It was easy to save the cars I wanted to look into more with a favorites list . From that list I test drove the cars and found the exact one I wanted !

An excellent choice for a small family car, you will not be disappointed. It offers remarkable fuel efficiency.

I bought this 2022 Highlander XLE a month ago in the DFW area after experiencing a crash in my 2015 Highlander XLE. Not only am I thrilled with the improved ease of use in features, the gas mileage appears better than before my purchase.

I have this car for 2 years and I am disappointed considering what I paid for it and what the car is. Here are some of the frustrating parts, starting with the little one and getting to the really important parts. - at more than 60K dollars, the car doesn't have a compass. It seems to have one built in, but it shows only at some apparently random times when messing with settings. It never shows while driving. The dealer said it comes with the higher trim (mine is XLE). My daughter's old Hyundai at $16K, had a compass, as did all the other cars I owed. - you can not turn off the sound for the line-departure warning. It just drives me crazy as it keep beeping all the time thinking that I am crossing the lines. In order to turn it off, you have to turn off the whole driver assist function. I like to have the driver assist on, to show on the display and I even like the "tagging" on the steering wheel, but not the audio alarm. It drives me nuts. - the transmission is having issues. It makes weird noises at times, and when I start from a stop, the engine reeves up, and then the car jumps forward as if the clutch was released too fast. At the dealer they said there is nothing they can do until it actually breaks!!! - the AWD is not working as it should. I got stuck with the front wheels being in snow that was not much taller than the tire itself. The real wheels were on pretty much solid ground. While trying to backup, the front wheels would slip but the real wheels did not even attempt to move at all. The indicator was showing that all the power was going to the front wheels and none to the rear. I tried the snow, sand, and whatever setting they have, and it made absolutely no difference. Other AWD cars didn't have any issue getting out of similar situation. The guys at the dealer didn't even know how the AWD works. They told me that perhaps I didn't have the AWD engaged (as if you could "disengage" it. Then they told me that the “torque” indicator on board shows the speed of the wheels instead of power. I had to make the guy look at the indicator while I pushed the throttle with the car slowly moving to prove that it is torque (power as they call it) not speed. He told me that the car should be in "sport" mode when it shows the red ball in the center of the car. It took me a while to explain to the idiot that the red ball indicates the "G" force while accelerating, braking and taking turns. It was a waste of time. - The first night I drove, the headlights were lighting way to high, so the low beam was pointed straight ahead and blinding the people driving towards me at night. They were all flashing the lights at me thinking that I had the high beam on. The high beam was lighting all the way to the top of the trees, and the road in the front of the car was pretty much in the dark. I took it to the dealer, they "adjusted" them but when the night came I realized that they turned them all the way down. Now with the high beams on, I could not see the edge of the road on the other side of an intersection. Next day I took it back to the dealer. They re-adjusted them, and then they were back like when I bought the car. I had to adjust the head-beams by myself to make them point reasonably well. Maybe it’s not all the car’s fault but rather the dealer’s. But either way, it is nonetheless a Toyota issue, and the car is way too expensive for the initial quality and the technical issues that you get. I would not recommend this car and I will not buy a Toyota again since they don’t have dealers that know what they are doing.
