Positive Review
My Highlander Hybrid has an amazingly smooth and quite ride. The seats are very comfortable and the ability to adjust the center seats forward makes for a better ride for third row passengers. While I keep hearing the current version is tired and old, I find it very user friendly and reliable. I don’t really care about apple play. So far I’m averaging 30 miles per gallon which is amazing considering the size of this vehicle and the fact it’s a six cylinder engine! Job well done Toyota!
Critical Review
I was looking forward to owning this vehicle. Im 67 and have owned many GM and Ford vehicles. I had to trade my lovely Lincoln MKZ for this vehicle when I became a foster parent of 3 children. I was excited to own a Toyota - they have a tremendous reputation for quality. This was my first opportunity to experience. This vehicle is basically very, very sound. But the convenience, electronic, and design features - stink. I could make a list a mile long. Here is an example. When you turn the engine off, the radio/audio is off immediately. Really? You have to sit in your garage and let your engine run to hear the end of a song or the news? The headlights are poor, the auto-dimming spotty performance. The XM radio has no repeat. Its presets dont display channel names, only numbers. The display is low definition. You cant intentionally lock your keys in the car! (doesnt everyone want to do this occasionally? Like at the dealership for pickup after hours?) Manual odometer and reset. Poor and lack of information given on display such as mileage tied to trip A or B. Apparently no volume control on navigation speaker. Too many features require a manual or google to operate. This is the first car I have ever purchased that I simply hate.

Great gas mileage for its size
Just cheap plastic under front seat housing
Had for 7 years, excellent buy and rated 28/28 on mileage per gallon and consistently getting this. Only oil changes and tires. Only issue on passenger seat, plastic below it cracked after about 3 years and had to be replaced, about $400-500 to replace. Told probably a defect in design.
Kids
Wish it were just a lil bit bigger lol
Great for big families like ours. Comfortable travel for kids, adults,
Great driving car

Excellent car it rides smoothly . Drives the best in its category of SUV. Has no problems or repair work needed.
reliable
engine very quiet
First 3 months I got 33mpg. Winter came and since then I get 25 mpg. Took to dealer 2x and said everything OK. Expensive wheels have chrome flaking off. Dealer too bad no warranty.
Hybrid has very good power. Easy to merge.

There is no front floor lighting available from Toyota. Hence when you get in, you cannot see clearly where your feet are going.
Ride, comfort, power and a bunch of features.
There really are none.
The hybrid option adds a ton of low-end torque, and the V6 handles the rest nicely,... seamless transitions. Very quiet inside, excellent handling, reliable, as many features as a MB or BMW,... an excellent quality build.
Dependable and nice smooth comfortable ride
Not really any
I bought this used with very low miles. It is so comfortable and fun to drive. I feel like I am sitting behind the wheel just gliding along. So glad I found this SUV.
Roomy, excellent fuel economy, comfortable, safe.
Third row seating is very tight.
I purchased this car new in 2018 and have been extremely pleased with the way it handles, the over-all comfort, the spacious interior, the great safety equipment the fuel economy. Typically I see 29 to 30 MPG combined highway / city driving in the summer and in the range of 27 MPG in the winter (using winter driving tires). The car handles very well on slick roads especially with the winter tires but would probably handle nicely year around with all terrain tires as well. We have owned 3 Toyotas (2 Rav4's and the Highlander Hybrid) and have not had a single issue with any of them with the single exception of having the driver information center replaced under warranty - the voice command was malfunctioning which was a real annoyance. Toyota paid for the replacement part and all labor to install it.
