Positive Review
My mom originally bought this car in 2001 or 2002 and it never gave her any problems... Since then she has purchased a new car and passed this car down to me and ive never had any problems out of it... I drive to south carolina (2 hours each way) twice a month and only problem ive had out of this car was the power steering pump went out once... Other than that NO issues at all... I tell my friends how many miles i have on it and they dont want to ride with me in fear of a breakdown but ive seen them go through many vehicles and ive been the only one with the same car...Plus my particular camry got around 32 mpg on the highway and i averaged around 575 miles on a tank... I would fill up once every two weeks while friends would be filling up twice a week or once a week... Plus im 6 foot 9 and im able to fit in the car just fine... Car was hit a couple of days ago and it was deemed "totaled" by insurance so me and the car have to part ways, but i honestly dont think i will ever have another car just as reliable...
Critical Review
Camry purchased based on longevity, quality and maintenance of high resale value. Vehicle started making noise at 82,000 miles, shortly after expiration of extended warranty (7 yrs/100,000 mi). After extensive diagnostics, were advised that a piston had broken, car was worthless unless engine was replaced, no trade-in value, no sales value. Cost to replace engine over $7500. Car was single-owner, used moderately for 8 years, driven only freeway and city streets maintained regularly, so should have lasted to 150,000 miles or more. Local Toyota service rep stated this should NOT have happened in the circumstances, and made numerous attempts to intercede with Toyota on our behalf. However, Toyota refused any assistance. Toyota service rep indicated only option short of full engine replacement was to drive the car until it died, which it recently did, as it had no resale value. Have lost confidence in Toyota, would not purchase another vehicle from them at this point.

Sexy styling, nice cloth interior, everything still works
It's built too well.
Peak car most amazing car ever built, super cool and gangster. This thing is 24 years old and runs like it did new. It will start in -20F no problem it doesn't care. You can run this engine with cooking oil as lubricant and it will not care. Most indestructible sedan ever produced. It will outlive you, your children, and your children's children. If you find this car buy it and be nice to it or don't it doesn't care because it's just that good.
Expected a market value. Didn't get it. Lots of info I wasn't looking for!! Adding useless info to meet 100 character requirement.

Reliability and quality.
Lack of uniqueness.
You’ll get something vanilla, but reliable and affordable. The absolute antithesis of my previous car, a 2003 Nissan Altima.
Dependability is 2nd to none
Sometimes wish engine had bit more HP, otherwise g
'97 Camry was my first car, 3 previous owners w/ 224k miles on her. After doing some repairs (new water pump, radiator hoses, new tires, was going to repair rack and pinion), she ran like new. Should have given her to family, because they still needed a car, but I unfortunately sold it to junkyard (was leaving for boot camp and no one else wanted her at the time). Finally got my hands on another '97 Camry w/ 84k miles, and I really hope she lasts me a really long time, because I'm not letting her go. Great gas mileage for old car, very comfortable, quiet, great manueverability, and just... Yes! Personally, I LOVE the styling of this car, it is unassuming yet has so much personality.
Drives great ol reliable
Needs new cats body work windshield Acceleration
Bought about a week ago with less than 100,000 miles with only one owner who took great care of the car. Needs 2 new catalytic converters and the windshield was placed on wrong causing rainwater to get into the passenger side. Has a few bumps and bruises on the outside but the car is again 21 years old.
Everything
None
I've own many cars all types from Honda Accord's to z28 Camaros to S10 Chevy pickup trucks also Subaru Forester so many to list this car the Toyota Camry has never let left me stranded excellent on gas it is the smoothest ride I ever experience I give it a five star rating and the re sale value was great. I sometimes regret selling it I should've kept it as a back up car or work commuting car but it went to a good home to a first time car buyer a young man with his first job.....
