Positive Review
My husband and I just bought this car 1 month ago and in about a week & a half we started getting alerts about the EPB. We thought we had accidently bumped something so we ignored it for a few days. Then it started to alert us ALL THE TIME. So we took it back to the dealership to see what was wrong. Turns out, they have to replace that part entirely. And of course, it is out of stock and they dont know when they will get it in. So... new car and cant even drive it! Luckily still under warranty. On the upside, the car is easy to handle (almost like a sports car) and is surprisingly spacious. I do wish it had a cd player instead of having to use Bluetooth or such to listen to my songs. Im a 90s woman and like to have that hard cd in my hand. Hate downloading. Like the expert review said, the engine is loud especially when youre getting up to speed. Makes me feel as though Im trying to kill it. Anyways...other than the cons, I do like it. Just want to be able to drive it! lol
Critical Review
It took me about a month to regret this purchase, here's why: 1) The middle console is all wasted space due to the curvature and delicate material choice which is already scratched to heck and I'm very gentle on my cars. 2) No place to put sunglasses. This might seem naggy, but wth? 3) No automatic trunk, we're in 2020 and I bought the Limited, top of the line version. It is also unreliable as to if it will open. This also means no trunk button in the car or on the remote. ONLY located at trunk. 4) Cab screen forgets my contacts every couple days, super annoying. 5) Remote has terrible distance capability. I have to literally be within 15 feet of the vehicle to lock or unlock. I've never had a car I couldn't lock from my bedroom to the curb, super annoying. It looks SOO cool, but Toyota dropped the ball on this one.

It's a Toyota, zero issues, runs smooth.
A bit slow off the line, not a lot of space for cargo.
Yeah, so it doesn't have a lot of go of of the line, and the backseat is a bit tight if you have five people in the car. The space for cargo is a bit small... but it is still a Toyota. I bought mine brand new in 2021, and have never had an issue with it at any time. The ride is smooth, and gas mileage is acceptable. Exactly what I expect from my Toyotas, and I have had many. Very happy I purchased this vehicle.
Hi readers, I can’t believe how Toyota change their quality toward unreliable cars in the market. I bought a CHR it got transmission noise in 40.000 miles ridiculous. There used transmission from wrecked cars but not reliable new ones are 6 thousand dollar and as I searched most CHR and Highlighlander Corolla Camry has same issues so in short be careful don’t go for the name of Toyota. It’s worst than any other car manufacturer in the Market .
Great sporty vehicle, no mechanical issues
None
Car looks great. Handles well. With the small engine, not much get up and go but enough to pass when needed. Have had 0 problems with anything.
Nice Look (very eye appealing) Drives smooth.
Transmission failure early on.
My 2018 Toyota c-hr, I bought this car about two years ago around February. I've done everything right normal oil changes and what not, But now at 77,000 miles the transmission already needs to be replaced. Unfortunately I'm not the only one to experience this issue, Many others have at even lower miles then myself. they need to do a recall or something. Fortunately mine is still covered under warranty. But if it was not id be In forever dept. The humming sound was noticed in the transmission shorty after buying it and every shop I took it to said it was nothing Until said noise got louder about 2 weeks ago. I replaced the wheel bearings on it, Hoping that was it. Nope then I finally caved and took it in to the dealership because it was keeping me up at night. I new what they were going to say as I waited patiently in their waiting room. Low and behold "Ms. Perk" the nice gentleman said, "I'm sorry but we have to replace your transmission where did you say your warranty paper work was?"(My heart sunk in my chest) And on top of that the Warranty company is giving the dealership a hard time. This is all just very stressful, I've only owed this car for two years! Guys I know this car looks nice and might drive nice, it was extremely tempting to me as well but please for the sake of your future self's sanity do not buy this car! Just get the Rav4 instead. You know you want that as well! I keep telling myself I should have just got the rav4 :/
Cute sporty awesome car great gas mileage comfortable to drive get lots of compliments on my car would definitely buy again love this car
Great condition. Fun to drive. I feel very safe with my grand kids in the car with me while I’m taking them to school. I get lots of compliments.
Solid commuter car, good gas mileage, comfortable
Slow engine, poor cargo room, tough sight lines
I'm nearing the end of my 3-year lease on the 2020 C-HR LE. I have to say that I feel pretty 'meh' about the car. It does have some good qualities to it. The gas mileage is pretty good (especially for me being a thruway driver), it's comfortable to drive long distances (10hr round trip to Detroit in a day), and it looks pretty good on the road. That last one may not be shared by everyone but it's unique to say the least. The standard safety features are a plus, especially on a base trim level. It's easy to get into and out of so running errands feels quick and easy enough. The car does come with some downsides. One of those is its underpowered engine. It is consistently sluggish on the thruway to get up to speed. If you plan to overtake someone in the left lane of the thruway, be sure to give yourself some distance and time to make it happen. It also can get really noisy on the thruway so my music is always up at a higher level to equal out the increased road noise. KBB's review hits the sightlines perfectly. I'm constantly moving up in my seat to check my blind spot. Having blindspot monitoring would be really nice and an added bonus. Also, the cargo space is severely lacking. Anything outside of some normal grocery shopping requires me to fold down the rear seats. Like putting my golf clubs in the car is an adventure on its own. I know most cars in this class would require dropping seats for golf clubs but it'd be nice to feel like I could fit more than just the clubs and a few bags of groceries and not feel like all my storage room is taken up. Also, the rear seats are definitely a bit cramped for anyone who's above a standard 5'10" height. You could view the back seat experience as lux because you're enclosed in a smaller space and the rear doors hide your face from the public eye. Or you could view it like my wife and I do as a claustrophobic experience for yourself or your passengers. Either way, the rear seats aren't the best for hauling family or friends. Main Summary/Thoughts: All this to say, it's a pleasant A to B car that'll get the job done for certain people. It has nice (unique?) styling, good standard safety features, and decent gas mileage. It's easy to get in and out of, sits like an SUV but without the driving height of one, and is solid for longer drives. However, if you're looking for a more engaging driving experience, a quieter cabin on the thruway, better cargo room, safer sight lines for your blindspot, and space to bring people out shopping/tripping with you I'd advise you to look elsewhere. But, if all you need is a comfortable commuter car with a stylized edge to it, this could be the one for you.
Nice exterior styling
Slow pickup, cheap interior and exterior plastic p
I had high hopes when purchasing a used 2019 CHR in 2020. I expected the former Toyota quality inside and out. Well..the exterior is made of cheap plastic that dents easily. The interior has even cheaper plastic parts and even the seat adjusters have had issues. Already the windshield wiper nozzle and motor have needed replacing. I will go back to Honda when I get ready to turn this in one day. Also this has the slowest pickup ever. It's the "little car that couldn't."
