Positive Review

"Did not live up to my expectation!"

Rear glass looks hazy and blurred. Front glass and window has a glitter effect in the bright sun impairing your view. Side mirrors reflect in window glass, too low and too far back. Car door opens too far to reach to close. No airflow to the floor board on any settings. No lock to glove compartment. Do not like the way the windows are installed. Drivers windshield wiper does not stand up for cleaning the glass. Do not like the night glare feature on the drivers rearview mirror. Image quality of back up camera is very poor. Phone does not charge on the charging pad.

Critical Review

"Very Disappointed, I owned several Avalons"

This new design to me is a flop . It looked good on the showroom floor , and I rushed to buy it ,then I began to hate it . The 8 speed transmission is horrible ! You have to dig deep for the power and there is a delay. No freaking sun glass holder ! Exhaust note is too loud in any mode and bothersome for this type of vehicle. Beware of low profile rims. You hear and feel everything on the road and I bent all the rims with small pot holes. I hit my head every time I got into the car . The model I had was the Touring with ventilated seats, the fan was so loud and it feels so clammy! Rear window is so slanted that you cannot even clean the window from the inside, I had to use a spatula and a towel to try to clean the glass ! I hated this vehicle , I am glad it determined to be a lemon due to the JBL stereo defect and I got all my money back and bought the Lexus ES 350 and it is 1000 times better ! The only thing I liked was the way the rear tail light blinked in the Touring model . And that thrill wore out fast . I don’t recommend this new model Avalon. I have had all the older model Avalon’s and they were a lot better by far !

The Full Size Quality Sedan Leader

Simply, Lexus fit & finish. The identical state of the art 3.5l engine, inter. exter. style as a ES 350. For $5000 less...

Not a cookie cutter SUV

Decades long standard for a modern full size vehicle. Essentially a Lexus 350 for $5000 less. Mechanically, the well proven 3.5l. powerplant. Mpg rating 22- 32. Im getting 27 town/ 33 highway. My old 2.5 l. 4 cyl. , at best got us 26, 27 mpg. Nice 3750 # car w/ that gas consumption. Great merge acceleration. Inside, even the XLE exudes upscale fit & finish. Very comfy seats front & rear. Minor, bit smallish glove compartment. Amazing myriad of tech features. Im not a wonk so wont use alot of them. Nice settings gives owner power to customize. Exterior styling, real clean cut, modern. Noted Toyota ( post 2022) replaced w/ more pricey, Crown.

Wouldn't buy again

Wouldn't buy again-- in fact this is my last Toyota. Still noisy (like the Camry) at highway speeds. Battery went sour and, unlike my wife's 2005 Honda CRV with 142,500 miles, no battery light went on. Just blinking lights, weird sounds, and every light on the dash blinking. It was the engine..no the electrical system...no the (you name it). Took the mechanic some time to see that it was the battery (battery then replaced at about 21,000 miles). Apparently, unlike older cars, you have to guess at what is wrong. Most of the technology is wasted on someone like me that just wants a heavy, stable, car that is dependable. Don't want a sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and other gadgets that cost Toyota 100 dollars to make and install and for which they can charge $200 to customers who never use them. Also, the "technology" that tells you what song is playing works sometimes and sometimes just locks on the first song that is played and stays there. The driver's seat leans to the right and is hard on the back during long trips. The infoscreen is basically useless.
