Positive Review
Love this car. Has a lot of pep and great on gas mileage, aprox. 28 mpg every fill-up. Large trunk space. Fold down seats in rear, including 2 cup holders for back seat passengers. Comfortable and sporty. Fun to drive!
Critical Review
I drive 100 mi a day to and from work and this car has started and ran every day. The down side was when the ignition pack caused an intermitten miss after about 45mins of driving. The check engine light would flash on and off.Took to dealer off and on for several months they didnt replace anything. Then at 80000 miles they told me it was a cadilytic converter. Cost $2000 warr. ended @ 70000 miles for this part. That still didn't fix the miss! Took back in they replaced Ignition coil. Haven't had any problems since.

Small compact car
Constant maintenance
I bought this car through another owner and not a dealership and I’ve since paid 3 times over for it in repairs in 5 years. Suzuki does not make the parts for this car anymore. They have been trying to eliminate this car off the market and because of this every repair needed is very costly or impossible.
Reliable, Affordable, Fun, Spacious for a 5-door
Tire replacement, air conditioning, uncomfortable
This car has driven from Colorado to NY twice, and from Colorado to California once! I drove this car for 3 years as a delivery driver and I never had to worry about it starting for a shift. It is probably one of the most dependable things in my life. So, I bought this car in 2009 since that time I have had one issue with the clutch (it was covered under the manufacturer warranty) and honestly I was just learning manual, so it might have been my fault! I have had one break job, the timing belt replaced at 95,000 miles (30,000 miles over the car's manual recommendation), and the shocks & struts replaced. Keep in mind I was a delivery driver for 3 years, so I blame most of the struts issues on all the potholes I just blazed through on the clock. All of the work done on this car was done before there was a problem. No surprises or disappointment just maintenance! Areas to consider: it's not very comfortable for a long road trips. The interior is pretty simple, there aren't a lot of bells and whistles. The air conditioning has never really kept the inside cold. Cooler than the outside sure but with 3 people in the car the interior temperature maybe held at 72 degrees. I have replaced the tires a lot! I'm about to purchase my 4th set of tires, so you don't have a lot options to upgrade quality when it comes to tires. That's all I can think as far as negatives. Some more positives: I only fill my gas tank once every two weeks and put about 30 miles on my car a day. I have avoided at least 2 potentially fatal car accidents in this car (it's maneuvering capability is outstanding)I mostly drove this car in Denver and in Albuquerque if that means anything to you. I still have the car BTW and I hope you give it to my kid one day! I don't know if that's naive but so far the way the car has preformed I think it's possible.
Great value for the dollar. Reliable.
Styling (my apologies to Italdesign)
Traded in a HORRIBLE 2005 Chevy Aveo on this car during a special financing event at a local Suzi dealer. This car is loaded and I got it for around $14K/$150/mo. Several sets of tires and brake pads, dozens of oil and filter changes, a new clutch at 210K miles and Suzi is still rolling! Maintenance, people! You need to stay on top of it! I just passed state inspection today with no added parts or necessary service. However, the mechanic told me new struts should be considered soon. Also, I just received the parts to do a timing belt and water pump change yesterday. I am still on the OEM timing belt at 225K miles, believe it or not. I am aware of lots of scathing reviews on this car on the 'net... I must have gotten lucky. I have NO complaints.
great price, reliable, looks different
cup holder location, visibility when backing up
I bought this car new in 2008 and it hasn't let me down yet. Solid dependable transportation that's good on gas. I actually get better gas mileage than was on the window sticker
price, a lot of room for a small car
OK to get from A to B, but always disappoints
The least expensive car I could find. Engine ran pretty well with little to no maintenance, until after 100K. Now engine light is on. Needs thermostat needs MAP sensor, needs new shocks, wheels are dented - won't stay balanced. headlights don't aim correctly, and sometimes don't even work at all. There was a recall for the headlights. Tires are an odd size so you have to buy Korean tires. Can't find Michelin or goodyear in that size. Car is compact with a MPG rating of 25-29. Sometimes cars are rated conservatively and you end up getting more, but NO I never got more than 29 or even averaged close to 29. Disappointing for a small car.
