Positive Review

"Love the Car but Hate the Large Touchscreen!"

The 2024 Crosstrek (I have the Premium model) is a well-designed, refined vehicle that's very comfortable to drive. It comes with the smaller engine but provides me with more than enough power to get around the fairly flat roadways of coastal North Carolina. The one, rather major, complaint that I have is about the VERY large touchscreen. For some reason, the designers at Subaru chose to incorporate the HVAC controls into the touchscreen. I find it to be very cumbersome to make adjustments, requiring one to journey through several menus. A driver has to unsafely divert attention from the task of driving and focus on the menus, all the while having a steady finger in order to make changes. It can be challenging even on just slightly bumpy roads. They should have kept the knobs and buttons from prior years. Otherwise, it's a great vehicle!

Critical Review

"Horrible CarPlay interface"

New 2024 Crosstrek’s “wireless” Apple CarPlay constantly drops my end of phone calls. So if you don’t like constantly listening to the person on the other side of the call saying “hello are you there” then having to hang up and call back to reconnect- hold off on buying this car. The display that causes these problems costs 4k, so replacing it probably isn’t happening. Save your self a headache and don’t buy a Subaru till they fix this problem. Tons of people on message boards are having the same problem. Subaru’s Bluetooth has always been a problem, but in the past you could turn it off and connect through a usb. Now you DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION. It’s hard to explain how pathetic it is to not be able to maintain a conversation in a brand new car. It’s a continual source of embarrassment having to explain to every person you talk to that, I’ll have to repeatedly hang up and call back. I wish I could connect with a usb again. Please fix this ridiculously annoying problem Subaru!

Worst nightmare ever

Cons

These vehicle's are pathetic

This vehicle sucks!! Always in the service department. Electrical glitches on dashboard, and the stereo screen. They replaced a wiring harness. The transmission has a hard shift second to third gear. They replaced a shifter solenoid. Thankfully it's a vehicle under warranty, but having this vehicle as my daily use it's not reliable enough.

New Subaru Crosstrek

I was looking for a reliable car for my adult child who will be more on a busy highway in 2025. After searching through severL dealerships and assisted by this site, we found a new Subaru Crosstrek in a preferred color and ended up buying it. She has been pleased with it.

2024 Subaru Crosstrek Limited

I love this car!! I've been looking for the right one for a year or so. Wanted the 2.5L engine. Wanted it to be red. Got it!! I've been driving an SUV for so long now this feels like a sports car to me. Holds the road quite well, and has so many options on the big 11" screen I'm still figuring them all out a week after I picked it up. Love the big back-up camera screen. Not a lot of storage in it, but I don't really need it. My kids are all grown, my dog only rides in my old pick-up. This is just right for me, now.

Pros

Reliable, comfortable and fun

Cons

Touchscreen is slow

This is my first Subaru. I came from Lexus and I’m not disappointed. The ride is great and the car has been solid. Occasionally the touchscreen will lag. That’s one issue.

Wilderness is a fun upgrade
Pros

Styling, AWD, stereo system, tires

Cons

gas mileage, infotainment system is a bit laggy

The Crosstrek just got a lot more fun! The wilderness brings the off-road look and capability you want and expect from Subaru. Great power from the 2.5L engine, great in the mud/snow, comfortable seats that are easy to clean with the startex material.

Get the Sport
Pros

Everything works

Cons

Power, options, build quality

The 2.0L engine is wildly under powered. The options very so much from car to car, the only thing I can say is to start at the Sport model and go from there. Wind noise is like a Mitsubishi. No where near the for and finish of the older Subaru's. I wish I could trade it in for my 2014 Outback.
