Positive Review
I love this car. I traded in my Toyota Yaris for the IQ. The IQ is as wide as my Yaris was. The car still has me in training as far as gas mileage but I was only looking for 30 mpg anyway as I have a lead foot. I am sure when the engine is broken in and I have learned to drive more eco friendly the mpg will get better. I LOVE the seats. They sit up nice and high. The inside has a really nice finish. Looks a LOT nicer than my Yaris. I am up and down the highway to work and the IQ has no problem keeping up. It is the PERFECT commuter car.
Critical Review
Toyota says this car gets 36mpg. Yea Right! More like 25mpg!! Seating for 2 only. Bluetooth on Radio Never stays connected to the cell phone. You feel like and Ant on the street.

Reliable. Cost-effective Bigger inside than exp
Small, interior noise, rides a little rough
Only because this car is winding down and I have a grueling commute am I considering getting g something new. It’s been so very reliable and inexpensive to operate.
Have had the car for the last 8 months and it's holding up well. The 1.3 engine is small but it's a good commuter car that's ok even on the highway at 65. Looks are weird but I love the Toyota build quality. Only thing I recommend is always always change out the oil at 6k miles and always use a premium synthetic I use Mobil 1 0-20w....
Handling, turning radius, reliability
Sluggish at takeoff, weak interior lighting
This has been a much better choice for the city than the smart car, it’s reliable, handles well, turning radius is incredible On the contrary it is a little sluggish at slower speed and would have been great in a 5 speed manual transmission I have owned it for 8 years
Fun to drive, fuel efficient, easy to park
Expensive to service
I purchased my iQ used at 42k miles and it’s at around 96k miles now and it’s had no issues whatsoever. Additionally, this car is very comfortable to sit in in the front seats because of its width. I can park anywhere and everywhere in Austin without a problem and it’s cheap to fill up and good on gas. It turns on a dime. My only complaint is it’s kind of a run-around to get it serviced for oil changes and what not because of its uncommonness.
Turn on a dime like no other!
Rugged ride on highway, obviously made for city
People don't understand, the glove compartment is under the passenger seat. Pretty nifty if you ask me.
Easy to park, fun to drive
No glove box
This little thing zips around town using very little gas. It is comfy, stylish, and fun. I have owned mine for over five years, and never had a problem with it. I absolutely love this car!
Easy turning, breeze to park, great gas mileage
Poor acceleration, less space.
My son drives it to work about 65miles round trip. He has been driving it since high school and still loves it. We tracked the mileage since he started working about a year and half back. Mileage rises to about 48 in April -May and gradually drops to 35 and then rises again sharply.
I have this car for a while now and I can truly say its a great car. It is the most convenient car to own in New York City where parking is impossible to find. It is highly maneuverable. Fun to drive. Easy to drive. You can fit a truly insane amount of stuff in it. It probably had the worst marketing campaign in the history of marketing. My wife wanted a smart fortwo but we have a kid so I looked for the next best thing. After much research I came across this car. A few inches bigger than a smart car (I dare you to eyeball the difference in person) but infinity better in every way. Drive a smart car and you will understand. This car cost approximately $500 more than the smart but for $500 you get a completely better car. Probably one of the best cars I have had (I also have an SRT 392 Charger to give you some perspective). If you have the opportunity to get this car do yourself a favor and get one. Great city car. Great work car. Great family car. I fit 2 kids in the back seats without much problem.
