What Owners are Saying About the 2001 Saturn S-Series
"Execellent gas mileage, very minor repairs."
"We have owned this car for over 4 years. This car is just fantastic, reliability, quality of construction is execellent! Plus our gas mileage is out of this world,,,,40 MPG in the city, and 55MPG on the highway! We plan on keeping this car for as long as possible."
"Hard to beat for the price"
"I have a hard time knowing why the value of the Saturn is so low given their high dependability. Almost 20 years now and still running. One issue with a small engine block crack that was fixed with liquid copper, Bahrs. Then regular oil changes and a new fuel cap, engine flush and cooling flush and still runs almost like new. A little vibration how. Roll-up windows are a trade off for luxury, but I need economy! I don't need a $60,000 car to drive seven miles a day. My Saturn SC-1 keeps on going (knocks on wood) and going. I've heard that Saturns never die, owners kill them. The low cost of ownership, the high car tab prices for new cars in Washington state keep me from buying a new car. My Saturn gets me from A to B with no leaks, no drips and no frills. Why do you need more? With new tires, it handles like a go-cart. Love it. And no payments!! Off the grid means my engine won't shut off from radio interference from aircraft/cars with remote starts. This is a driver's car."
"We loved this car, no trouble for many yrs/miles"
"We bought this car for the gas mileage - we never got below 33mpg in daily driving, 40 on highway trips. It has been a pleasure to own and drive, no major repairs. Weve owned it for 9 yrs and have put over 180,000 of the 330,000 miles on it. We have yet to replace the clutch (may have been replaced by previous owner, first 130,000 - or not!), which is amazing. The interior has held up amazingly well too, which shows quality in original materials. I loved driving with the manual transmission, it was effortless and fun. I will miss that especially. The only downside to this car is how low it sits, my 6ft 1in husband found it hard to get in/out of. The back seat is also cramped for passengers. Thats it though - everything else was the best."
