Positive Review
bought this car new for 10,000 in may of 2002 and have driven it for 173,000 miles and the only mechanical problems have been replace brake master cylinder and slave and install a new clutch kit at 173 000 miles..of course, tires, brakes, and oil changes every 3000 miles. It does not burn any oil and starts within 1 second when i turn the key..most economical and worry free car i have ever owned and at age 76 i have owned a lot of them
Critical Review
I had very few problems with this car. Great on gas... average 40 mpg highway and 32/34 city mpg. Not very comfortable for long car rides, and there is very little leg room in the back. Love the rear split seats and power moon roof.

Great fuel economy, cheap and easy to work on
Lack of power with the automatic transmission
Had the vehicle for a month. Gets great fuel mileage. Just an everyday work transportation. Easy to work on and repair.

Re: My 2002 Saturn SL1: I've owned many cars, and this is my best car ever. Super reliable with great gas mileage and just keeps going.
I called my 2002 Lapis Lazuli because she was blue (like the picture). She was my first car and will probably be the best. Simple but adorable car that was very reliable. Not the fastest, not the flashiest, not the coolest; but, she was my baby. Saturns will never be a bad investment and I’m so sad that she’s gone for good now.
Saturns last over 300k miles and are more reliable than most cars nowadays if you maintain regular oil changes
old age
has been a very good auto very reliable good mileage towed behind motorhome and has been lubed/oil changed evey 3000 miles.
fun to drive
you get some outside noise
it is an eyecatcher. Most people have never seen that third door which makes it extremely easy for passengers to enter and exit and for grocery shopping a little more power would never hurt and a little better ride
Easy to drive . Easy the shift. Easy to see out of

They Don’t make them this well anymore. 317000 miles and going strong on original clutch, original engine, I had to replace the IAC and the ECTS to keep it running and that’s it. Replaced the AC compressor twice, second time took. I like driving this car, not trying to sell mine.
