Positive Review
2010 9-5 Aero: Has all options including the Technology package. Heads up display has quickly become an option both my wife and I really like (before getting it we thought it a waste but now having it we appreciate it.) The XWD and power gives the driver a high degree of confidence in any condition. The styling has had strnagers stop to give us compliments, something that we never had experienced or seen on other cars. Best compliments have come from Jaguar and BMW owners.
Critical Review
I traded in a 2004 Saab 9-3 for the bigger 9-5 to help with transporting the cubs. I got a $12k rebate from Saab which pegged the vehicle at $24k which I thought was a great deal for a car with a $38k sticker. The goods - whizzy turbo engine which is plenty powerful for the car - 260HP is about the max you can run through the front wheels without getting too much oversteer. Seats are really comfortable, Harmon Kardon audio is great and, as others have said, the car is not cookie cutter. It's unique. 3 years serving is alos a big plus. The bads - no real technology offerred, poor fit and finish - nowhere near Germanic and just a wee bit outdated now. I've had several Saab dealer visits for popping up speaker covers and rattles and now a faulty airbag sensor, luckily just within warranty. Not good for a prestige ride. With GM set to jettison Saab, unless a good investor can be found, this will be my last Saab.

One of the last Model years to Saab to produce was one of the best in my opinion in the last 10 years. I have owned Saab for over 10 years and this, other than the turbo X, his hands down way ahead of its time. This is a true all wheel drive vehicle that allows you to modify the controls on the infotainment system with the flat screen. The heads up display is very valuable and very handy the car is very reliable and I would say a must-have in the used car market. The only downfall is a few little quirks that the manufacturer could have ironed out on the second or third model year being produced.
Economical, comfortable, low cost, easy to own
Rear lights, soft suspension, low resale
I’ve owned this 9-5 for 18 months and the performance has been solid. For being and large mid-size the 4 cylinder has plenty of acceleration while getting 30 mpg at 70mph. The interior has worn well with little degrade and is comfortable and well positioned. I love the heads-up display. I hardly notice it and it gives lots of information. There are 2 things I don’t like. First is the rear brake/turn signal bulbs. This was not thought out well. The bulb melted the fixture and while I was able to wire in a led remedy, I have to contend with hyper flashing. The other is the front struts are soft and pot holes at high speeds clunk pretty loud. Maintenance has been easy and repairs have been few over the last 18 months (eg.rear lights). I enjoy driving it everyday and look forward to long rides. The HDD (digital hard drive) in the radio is one of my favorite features. You can record your CDs and keep a library of your favorite music. Navigation is easy to use and this car will respond to voice commands. The hands free feature is clear and so are you on the other end. Overall my experience has been delightful. Responsive driving, safe feeling, comfortable and the looks of this car always turns heads. I get compliments all the time on how it looks. The brown metallic paint morphs to different hues between sunlight and shade and the subtle bright work accentuates the classic lines. There weren’t many made and some day I think this car will be a collectors gem. Right now though, if you’re willing to take a chance, you can get one cheap and enjoy the ride.

One of the energetic cars I have driven. The AERO package really steps it up.

This is the best car Saab ever made (and I should know, I have had 12). It drives beautifully, has loads of tech and comfort details. The Turbo-V6 is wonderfully powerful. I haven't found one thing to complain about. I traded a 2006 BMW M5 for this car and am very glad I did.
