Positive Review
I've installed a fiberglass top (no side windows), a sprayed on bed liner, great gripping tires for all seasons, after market PIAA's help to avoid deer. Very regular LOF by dealer. I love driving it but want a full size Ram. I have a reputation for keeping my vehicles in extraordinary condition.
Critical Review
I've only had the truck since November, so take this with a grain of salt. The truck is a bit over priced for the quality from what I see now that I own it. The interior is made with cheap plastic and looks very cheap. The outside is not bad though, looks wise that is. You can hear things rattle though as you drive down on the inside. The seats are comfortable, but the stereo is a bit far away and the cup holder is right under the shifter, so if you're not careful you'll spill your drink easily. The truck has almost no weight in the back and slides around far too much when it's wet or slippery, so you have to drive more cautiously than any other truck I've ever driven. I have the 6 cylinder, which is a big mistake. It's has the power I need, but the gas mpg is awful! I'm very worried about this truck giving me issues down the road, but thankfully Dodge has a 100K power train warranty. The truck has already cut off on me while backing up, so I'm very concerned about issues, considering I am only at 10K miles. Overall, I would probably not recommend this truck and I would instead spend the same amount of money on a better quality Chevy or Ford.

Good work truck
Strong engine with good acceleration. Perfect size
Interior plastic it's subpar. Lousy MPG.
I find is 2011 Ram Dakota to be a very good truck. It's a perfect size without being too big or too small. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the truck and my only complaint is the interior plastic is very cheap and becomes brittle over time with a lot of fading. V6 motor is strong but lacks great MPG. Handling and stability are excellent.
4X4, SATELLITE XM RADIO. GREAT IN ALL KINDS OF WEA

THIS DODGE DAKOTA QUAD CAB IS THE PERFECT SIZE, I OWNED A 2002 DODGE DAKOTA SLT PLUS CREW CAB 2-WHEEL-DRIVE WITH THE 3.9 V-6 FOR 10 YEARS AND LOVED IT. AT 150,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER I TRADED IT FOR THE 2011 RAM DAKOTA. I WISH DODGE STILL MANUFACTURED THE RAM DAKOTA. THE DAKOTA HAS A LOT MORE INTERIOR ROOM THAN THE GMC CANYON AND CHEVROLET COLORADO, AND THE DAKOTA HAS A LONGER BED. GREAT TO DRIVE.
Roomy and fun to drive city or highway
Gas
Brought the last version 2011. I can really say it's a good truck for whatever you want. A weekend get away in the mountains here in Puerto Rico or hauling or towing equipment for work. I'm glad I purchased this truck. It could be a little better on gas but overall it's a winner.
plenty of power great for towing
backseat legroom
Got the crew cab V8 laramie pkg. pulls trailer as good as a fullsize truck. Wife can drive it and park easily never had any mechanical problems hiway mpg 20 around town 15mpg thought it would get better love this truck wish they still made them
Lots of good comments from others.
Some cab wind noise at highway speeds.
When I heard Chrysler was going to end production, I quickly ordered. Did not need capabilities of full size truck. But wanted more that compact truck(Ranger). Very pleased with this truck. Tows/hauls all that I have needed. Reliable. Good gas mileage. No problems. If Chrysler resumed building Dakotas, I might consider another one.
size, my better half will drive it.
no trip computer

Midsize w/V-8 power- looks good - drives easy
gas mileage and radio could be improved
No one makes a new V-8 in a midsize or small pick-up anymore, so your choices are limited to a used one. This is my 3rd Dakota and I've been very happy with all of them. We need a midsize because my wife can't drive a full size one and we need a v-8 because we haul a 26' boat. It looks bigger than it really is so people think it is a full size. It is easy to drive, has lots of power, rides smooth, has great visibility and lots of interior room. The interior layout is great, with average quality. The quad cabin makes it a family vehicle with lots of back seat room and easy access from two large rear doors. The 4WD is very important, because the 2WD version's rear end is just too light and looses traction quickly. Had to make a quick 2000 mile trip to Arkansas to pick up a boat. We had a driver, an awake passenger, and one asleep in the rear. Rotated drivers every 200 miles. Did the trip over a weekend and the truck pulled the 4700 lb load well up and down the hills.
