Electric Variation Available
By Eric Brandt
Updated January 30, 2025
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is a luxury EV that’s not quite like anything else on the road. It’s an all-electric, high-performance, luxury station wagon. The Taycan sedan has a few peers like the Tesla Model S and the Audi e-tron GT, but one could argue that the Cross Turismo variant has no direct competitors in the whole world of electric luxury cars.
The two big things that set the Taycan Cross Turismo apart from the Taycan sedan are the wagon body and the lack of a rear-wheel-drive variant. Every Cross Turismo has all-wheel drive. Other than that, this wagon has the same pros and cons as the Taycan sedan, like its exciting performance, luxurious, high-tech interior, and tons of desirable options. Still, the big downside is a rather unimpressive driving range.
The new 2022 Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo GTS, with 590 horsepower, has even sportier tuning for its adaptive air suspension and active suspension management. It also has Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, the Sport Chrono Package, and black satin finishes on the exterior trim and wheels.
In addition to the new Sport Turismo GTS model, the 2022 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo gets some minor but welcome updates. These include standard Android Auto, available Remote Park Assist, and Paint to Sample, which allows you to get just about any paint color your heart desires for your electric Porsche wagon.
The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors, but here's a general idea of what buyers are currently paying for used 2022 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo models when purchasing from a dealership.
The 2022 Porsche Tacyan Cross Turismo is an EV that doesn’t forget it’s a performance car. With the battery packaged in the vehicle’s floor, the Taycan has a low center of gravity and a well-tuned chassis that gives it excellent handling for a car this size. The steering is precise, and the brakes do their job well to make for a practical wagon that delivers serious driving thrills.
Every Taycan Cross Turismo uses a dual-motor electric powertrain with all-wheel drive. The base model is fun to drive by anyone’s standards, but it gets a lot more exciting from there. Working your way up the model range, this wagon gets quicker and more powerful. The 4S model adds a nice performance boost without the price going too crazy. The Turbo and Turbo S models are for the serious enthusiast with a big budget.
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is also a comfortable luxury car. It’s smooth and quiet in long-distance cruising and a nice car to drive around town. This is a car that’s happy to provide whatever balance of comfort and driving excitement you’d like.
The inside of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is both luxurious and practical. The front seats are comfortable enough for long-distance cruising but have a tasteful level of sporty bolstering that’s good for spirited driving. The cockpit has a taste of Porsche tradition, but it’s also very high-tech with a curved digital display.
Some of the touch-sensitive controls can be a little frustrating, especially if you’ve never used controls like these before. If you’re used to traditional knobs and buttons, there’s a bit of a learning curve here.
Thanks to the wagon body, the back seats have plenty of legroom and more headroom than the Taycan sedan. The Cross Turismo body also yields much more cargo space than the sedan, giving it almost SUV-like practicality.
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo has a look so unique that it’s almost hard to believe it’s a real car. However, the dream of the electric Porsche wagon is very real. It has a family resemblance to the Porsche Panamera Cross Turismo, but the Taycan EV has a more futuristic, high-tech look.
Like the interior, the exterior of the Taycan Cross Turismo has a traditional Porsche character while looking thoroughly modern at the same time.
One of our favorite exterior options of the Taycan Cross Turismo is Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus. Paint to Sample allows you to choose from a wide range of Porsche colors throughout the brand’s history, like Acid Green and Riviera Blue. With Paint to Sample Plus, you can make the paint color whatever your heart desires. If you want your electric wagon to match a specific outfit or accessory perfectly, Porsche can make it happen.
Another terrific option — which is exclusive to the Cross Turismo model of the Taycan — is the Off-Road Design Package. This gives this wagon more ground clearance and body cladding to provide this Porsche with a rugged attitude.
The dimensions of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo are similar to the Tesla Model S and Audi e-tron GT.
OFF-ROAD DESIGN PACKAGE
This available appearance package adds more ground clearance and integrated off-road design cladding around the body for a more rugged look.
WAGON BODY
The distinct Cross Turismo body adds more passenger and cargo space, plus it comes with a panoramic fixed glass roof.
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is well-appointed at the base trim. Standard features include dual electric motors, all-wheel drive, partial leather seating, heated front seats, a curved 16.8-inch digital gauge cluster, ambient interior lighting, and much more.
Standard safety tech features in the Taycan Cross Turismo include automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, adaptive headlights, lane-keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, and rain-sensing wipers.
The standard infotainment system is a 10.9-inch screen loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and navigation.
There are many options available for the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, many of which are pretty costly. For starters, you choose your level of performance. Working your way up the model range, the 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S models all add more power and quicker acceleration, but those boosts in performance cost good money.
Some excellent interior options include various seating surfaces like Olea Club leather and Race-Tex suede, quad-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and multiple premium audio systems.
Additional options that upgrade performance include the Sport Chrono package — which adds a multi-function steering wheel and a stopwatch — adaptive air suspension, ceramic-coated brakes, and torque-vectoring steering.
Safety tech options you can add to the Taycan include adaptive cruise control, Porsche InnoDrive, and Remote Park Assist, which allows you to get your Porsche in and out of tight parking spots using the Porsche Connect mobile app.
One excellent option package that’s unique to the Taycan Cross Turismo is the Off-Road Design Package. This adds a little extra ground clearance and more body cladding, but unfortunately, it doesn’t make any mechanical upgrades to improve off-road capability.
Every Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo uses a dual-motor electric powertrain. All-wheel drive is also standard. As you move up the model range, the performance gets better, and the range gets a little worse.
The base Taycan 4 Cross Turismo makes 469 horsepower and has a 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds. The 4S model adds almost 100 horsepower over the base trim and rockets from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The Turbo model cranks out 670 horsepower and has a 0-60 mph time of 3.1 seconds, while the range-topping Turbo S makes an astounding 750 horsepower and hits 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds.
