Positive Review
This is my 3rd Cayenne---first V8 - 44,000 miles - the previous cars were amazing-85K and 75K miles respectively-ZERO issues..this one is a different story--in the first 30,000 miles I--had a major radiator pipe blow out necesitating a special part from the factory to be flown in (two weeks)(adhesive failure), two major water leaks around the windows, the engine knocks (or pings) constantly (car has been tuned, plugs changed, software reset)(factory rep has looked at it) and will not stop, requires 1 quart of oil every 400-450 miles (dealer has kept a log of the usage. The engine knocking happens no matter what brand of gas I use (dealer suggested a switch) - it impedes performance and engine reacts sluggish - no one seems to care----am trading the car in right before the warranty expires-NO WAY will I own this particular car without a warranty---the radiator issue alone would have cost over $5,000 according to the service rep.....too bad--I had really enjoyed the previous Cayennes I owned--not sure I'll buy another one.
Critical Review
Driven this SUV for 2 years after owning several other luxury brand SUVs, I came to the conclusion that it is a waste of money even though the perception, or rather, misperception of this vehicle is excellent. The V8 engine is powerful enough, but the low-slung, backward slanted driving position takes away the important benefits of an SUV, because the driving position does not provide the raised view of the road or gives you the feeling of complete control and confidence. I know only Range Rover delivers in that department and no wonder RR is selling like a hot cake. Mechanically, it is almost as unreliable as Range Rover but twice as much to maintain or repair. I will trade it in soon for a real high ride SUV that has both high H-point 30 and H-point 5 to truly enjoy the command & control of the road. Plus the total cost of ownership will be reduced by half.

runs forever
can be pricey
This SUV is one of the best buys in the price range. Highly reliable German engineering with lots of horses under the engine. This is the all terrain vehicle. Have over 130k miles and no signs of slowing down. Service regularly and it will run for 200k+. So much fun to drive and let's face it, it's a PORSCHE!
It's a bit like a racehorse. You look at it wrong and it breaks down. Compared to the 3 MDX's I owned, this was a greatly overrated, overpriced car option. A beautiful car when new, but as you add miles it becomes a very expensive and frustrating experience.
Flawless Driving , outstanding design, cruise control used give you more gas mileage. Speed , maneuverability is quite amazing. Overall
Fast, sporty, fun to drive, beautiful
hydraulic system is a bit loud
I was a skeptic after having had a brand new Ford since 2005. My last one being a 2021 Explorer ST. I figured what could it hurt to go drive one. I never have. Well, I was sold... started off with a used one for my first one. I will never buy anything but. It handled better than my other Fords in the WINTER and with no winter tires on. It has impressed me left and right. I have always owned the sport models or the fastest of that make. I believe I finally found my match. It is elegant but sporty. I love it!
acceleration, comfort, braking, handling
fuel consumption
The Cayenne from Porsche (Porsha) is the best moderately expensive SUV available. Bentley, Rover, Rolls, and Lamborghini all make SUV's that cost more, but then you're just showing off. I have driven the Cayenne at the "Tail of the Dragon" in NC -TN in the Smokey Mountains and I assure you the Cayenne can handle it. Big? yes Fast? yes Hangs on with most sports cars? Yes. Also available with heated and cooled full leather seats, heated Steering wheel, Bluetooth, Navigation, proximity and lane departure alerts, adjustable air suspension, hill hold, brake speed sensitive pre tensioning, etc. A really great performing, comfortable, fast, large sports car.
Handling, performance, acceleration, comfort
Fuel economy is a minor consideration
The Cayenne drives like a car, tows and hauls like a truck, goes off road like a Jeep, and performs like a sports car. Clearly the most versitile and dependable vehicle ever built by a sports / performance car company. The Cayenne is comfortable and enjoyable on long drives. and nimble and sure footed in the twisties. It easily accomadates 5 passengers, with heated and cooled rear seats that adjust front to back to insure ample foot and leg room. My Cayenne has the Sport Seats with adjustable side and lower seat bolsters to hold you in place for spirited driving, or more comfort for cruising. Adjustable air suspension goes from performance to comfort, and the Sport mode sharpens up all the cars responses. Truly a jack of all trades and a master of all roads.
THE GENUINE PORSCHE EMBLEM
NOTHING BUT A PEDESTRIAN VW
CHEAP VW MATERIALS ON INTERIOR AND HAS THAT NOT EXCLUSIVE VW 'CHEAPNESS'....FAUX PORSCHE.
Style, performance, price used, tech.
Still thinking about it.
