What Owners are Saying About the 1993 Porsche 968
"The BEST Sports Car Value"
"I've loved the 968 look since the car was introduced in 1992 but at $50K+ for the convertible, it was far too expensive for me at the time. Fast forward to 2019 - I was now retired and living in the Sierra Nevada foothills, amidst some of the best driving roads in the country, and remembered the 968. I started looking and found a low mileage one owner 1994 convertible Tiptronic at a price I just couldn't resist. While I was really looking for a 6 speed, I've found the automatic to be just about perfect for the roads around here. I flip the trans to manual mode, pop it into second, and don't have to shift it again - the power and torque from the big 3 liter 4 just keeps on pulling. The body is tight with no squeaks or rattles, quite a surprise for an ASC Germany convertible conversion, the engine is tight and powerful, with no leaks (it hasn't used a drop of oil yet) and the transmission shifts are quick and smooth. The fact that the timing and balance belts, tensioners, water pump, plugs, etc were replaced less than a month before the sale was just icing on the cake. I can't wait for Spring!!"
"1994 Porsche 968"
"I had my 968 coupe for 5 years and loved it. The positives were: price, styling, performance, at 6'2" was able to fit comfortably, handling, the tilt forward headlights, uniqueness and the other 968 owners. Negatives were: not a lot of aftermarket parts, I found the clutch pedal small and the agle you had to push it killed my foot and the cheap powersteering pump bracket that would keep shaking loose and break. Wonderful car, treat yourself."
"Terrific Car - Everything you want in a Porsche"
"I bought my 968 last April and have enjoyed driving it ever since. The price I paid was good, and it needed some work, but it has been a labor of love with this car. The more I repair things, the better I like the car (of course). I didn't expect to develop such an emotional attachment with it. Why? So many reasons: - Great driving car - Nice power, which translates to fun - Great cornering ability - Seems dependable as I repair things that were abused before I owned the car - It attracts a LOT of attentions, which was completely unanticipated. People will come out of stores to look at it. Others will walk up to it and comment about how beautiful the car looks. It's a phenomenon I am unaccustomed to, but which is very gratifying. One thing I have learned is that if you can find a great mechanic, who will work on the car at a decent rate, do everything you can to keep a good relationship. It seems that some mechanics think that because you own a Porsche (no matter how old) you must be loaded. I know in my case that isn't true! Basically, once you have the car where you want it, enjoy it! It's a fantastic drive. I intend to keep my car a long time and then pass it on to my son, who already loves it. (You should see the smile that crosses his face when we "put the pedal to the metal.""
