What Owners are Saying About the 1997 Porsche 911

"Mine since new"

"Bought it new in October 1996 and have used it as a weekend car for special rides. We packed it to the gills for a great trip form L.A. to Santa Fe and back. Really fabulous roadcar. The only problem was the carbon buildup due to the USA catalytic converter but I went ahead with a full top end re-build as I plan to keep the car till they carry me out of it. I am pleased to notice that the new 2010 version of the 911 looks very much like my 993 - with similar headlights and even the reflectors going part way accross the tail. There is really nothing like the sound of the air-cooled, flat six at 4,000+ RPM when it gets up on the cams with that "chain saw ripping through metal" sound! I like the LACK of things like cup holders and computer driving aids since I really have to pay attention to my driving or I will end up in the weeds. This is a very responsive car that slips though traffic like a salmon going upstream. Extreemly reliable and can be a daily driver."

"Fantastic Car"

"Last of the air-cooled 911's, this is a great collectible daily driver. Buy one if you get a chance to. You won't regret it."

"Iconic styling"

"I sold my 997 turbo with tip as it was dropping in value like a rock . I decided to own a car that although old school by todays standards, would tend to hold both in value and appeal. Ive never been disappointed for making the change and find my 993 receiving more thumbs up than the turbo ever received. The G50 and engine sound make this car a true joy to drive and most of the public, not familiar with Porsche think its a newer model. The car is raw by comparison to the newer models . Im a senior and this 993 model will probably be my last Porsche. Personal opinion, the latest offerings for 911 Porsche are over size and have lost the sports car look. The clean frontal look has gone away, replaced with the appearance of a whale shark!"
