"Reliable Sturdy , Love my car!"

I bought my 2002 pontiac in 2009 in Tacoma WA. it had 114000 miles on it, I drove this car cross country in 3 1/2 day's. and on more road trips from NC to MA then I can even remember, threw mountains deserts snow blizzards and soo much more. Never had any problems with the engine or transmission. Had to replace the fuel pump a few years ago, and the alternator and belt. Other then that just regular stuff tires breaks fan. I drive this car over 2 hours ever week day with no problems. I calculated on a clear highway driving straight for an hour I get 37 mpg. Only complaints I have are minor interior issues. The vent plastic breaks I replaced them they broke again, the seatbelt gets stuck and I cant pull it out on the passenger side. The trunk shift out of line and doesn't always like to close. The door siding in the rear driver side pops out of place along with the back seat doesn't snap firmly into place. But none of that changes my opinion on this car, it has carried me and my family from state to state and never left us stranded or lost. Just now at 195K miles I think the starter is having issue but nothing solid on that yet. Love this car.

Critical Review

"My first Car"

I bought this car used in 2005. It already had 35,000 miles, now it has 97,000 miles so I've put some wear and tear on it. It was a good little car at first. I expected a lot out of it since it was only 4 years old. Needless to say, my expectations were way too high. 1.) My anti-lock breaks started going out. If I was driving my car down a steep hill there would be two or three full seconds that my breaks would go out completely. Since a new set of anti-lock breaks would cost more than the car is worth, I just had the ABS unplugged so I have standard break system. This also causes three lights on my dashboard to light up constantly. 2.) I went through two batteries for this car in less than two years. My AC compressor was not working correctly, causing my battery to run down. This too would cost almost as much as the cars KBB value to fix. 3.) The cars exterior must be made out of aluminum because it crushes like a soda can. A bird flying into my fender costed as much as $2,000 to fix the "right way" including a new (yes NEW) passenger front fender and paint. 4.) My car will periodically take spells where it just doesn't want to start. I've had this checked out by a mechanic too and it evidentally can't be explained. 5.) I have had to have the sunroof repaired twice. Both times it opened and wouldn't close. Now I just don't use it at all. 6.) Not just major things, but minor things like my AC vents breaking all the time and my cup holders being in the way of the temperature and radio controls. I'm short, only 5'1" tall and I am constantly hitting my head on the roof of the car. I can't imagine how a tall person could get in and out comfortably. This car is excellent on gas and has been an ok car I guess. Problem after problem just gets annoying. If it was a little younger and had a little less miles, this car would probably be an nice starter car.

Great fast Lil car that will last forever.

I love it. Had it 3 years and she always gets me to where I need to go. Only had a few mechanical problems. Great on gas and turns on a dime.

Good Value. great on fuel, Very Dependable.
Pros

Easy to drive, Responds well in today's busy roads

Cons

The electric window motors on the Sunfire as well.

This is a '02 Pontiac Sunfire 4-door sedan, SE. 2.2 Liter OHV Engine. The cars weight and engine horse power seams to be a very good match, by driving conservative my car is getting terrific fuel mileage. My car starts quickly runs smoothly, the transmission shifts are firm. My Sunfire is quite agile, even sporty. General Motors got their Sunfire configuration right on the money, theses cars just don't have major issues with the engines or transmissions.

It’s fun to drive! It gets you where you’re going!
Pros

It’s reliable and fun to drive.

Cons

The paint is peeling in the hood

I love the cruise control, and tilt wheel. It feels good sitting, and driving for lengths of time. Great on gas, and everything works. The sun roof is cool, and the tires are good. It’s clean, and fun.

Great little car
Pros

simple, reliable, good on gas, easy to park,

Been with this car for the past 10 years and it is very hard to let it go. I have only had to do regular maintenance on it. Drives great, compact, simple. I ve driven it through my all my 20s. Good on gas, easy to park. For a small car, there is plenty of space in the front and back seats. I feel like there is more space in this car in front seats then there is in my other SUV.

Great Site
Pros

No strings attached

Cons

none for getting the approx value of your vehicle

Wanted to know the approx value of my vehicle as I am thinking of selling it (not trading). KBB confirmed what I had guessed was the value. No strings attached. They aren't going to fillup your email or blow up your phone with unwanted msgs. I highly recommend.

I love my car!
Pros

fun to drive, holds the road well

Cons

no clock! Getting old and needs some attention

My 2003 sunfire and I do at least 2 hours of driving each day! It is a fantastic little car. Starts first go each time, an owner before me did a little job on the electrics, so I am going to have to get that looked at sometime. Owned it for the last 4 years and packed on the miles each year.
