Positive Review
I got the van with 80,000 miles. It has performed flawlessly. At 170,000 I had a head gasket leak. Even though the cost was $700 for the repair it was worth every penny as the van has ran and held up great over the years. I couldn't have been more happy with the van. It routinely gets 22-23 mpg. The interior material is incredible. It has held up to three small kids for their entire lives and still looks like brand new. Paint has held up great. Its been a very reliable vehicle. I still see tons of this model van on the road.
Critical Review
I have owned this vehicle for six years and although it has never been unreliable. It has had break issues the entire time. Just two years the ABS distribution box had to be replaced along with rotors, calipers, brake lines, brake pads and any other piece relating to the brake system. The calipers are dealer only parts. You can find them second hand but they are still pricey. The caps for brake fluid, power steering are also dealer only parts. GM would not take my van into their garage and stated because it is out of warranty they would not hook it up to their machine to tell us what was wrong even though we would have paid. The material on the seats get stained from the water hitting them when the doors are open and it rains. GM again did not want to help even when we first bought the vehicle. I can see now why Pontiac is out of business. Anyway.. Good luck if you own this van.

Drive it anywhere
Good rnnner
It's been a very reliable car you could drive it anytime anywhere that you may need to go with no problems. You really need to see this vehicle
8 seats, reliability, nice look, good on gas
Front windshield is low, not deep trunk
This car has been a pleasure to our family of 7 for the last 10 years. We got it when I was expecting my 3rd and it has taken us on many long road trips. It's hauled all our camping gear many times over with a cargo top and loaded to the gills without a problem. Being almost 20 years old, I have expected her to leave me stranded, but it hasn't happened. We are looking for a new vehicle now since my kids are reaching over 6 feet in height and we could use more room when we travel. Great vehicle!
very dependable
Very little repairs have been needed.
Reliable, comfortable, great cargo space, can tow
Nothing really.
We bought our 2000 Montana when it was a couple of years old and had 45,000 kilometers on it. The only real hiccup we have had in the 14 years we have owned it was a coolant gasket failure at about 100,000 km. That was a known flaw on GM vehicles and a lot of owners experienced the same problem. Otherwise, this has been an awesome vehicle. Reliable, comfortable, able to tow a tent trailer up and down mountain passes, great cargo capacity. Interior is comfortable and super durable. Carpets are still in great condition (carpets on our Mazda 3 wore through after about 5 years). Other than replacing the brake pads and the front wheel bearings last year, this van has required absolutely nothing. It will probably run for another 5 years. It is starting to rust in front of the rear wheels but that seems to happen to all Montanas of this vintage. All in all, we could not be happier with our Montana. I just hope the vehicle we replace it with is as good as this one.
Reliable. Good mileage. Can haul anything!
Window sometimes has a mind of its own.
I have owned my 2003 Montana for about 8 or 9 years now. I will cry when it finally dies. It has been a workhorse of a vehicle. It's comfortable to drive, and can haul more cargo than you can imagine. I'm hoping to hit 300,000 miles on it. It has been an amazing vehicle.
Dependable, comfortable ride & seating
Just about everything else
We bought this 2000 Montana new, and still have it. Guess that should mean something. But from the very start it had parts that failed us.... auto window actuators (repeatedly), head gasket right after warranty expired, and more interior failures than I thought possible.....cabin water leak, audio speaker, cup holders, gas gauge (later worked after fuel pump replacement), manual reclining seat controls (on all 4 bucket seats), etc... However, it's never left us stranded, and more importantly, my wife loves the thing (for its ride and comfortable seats). I would have parted with it 10 years ago, but, happy wife, happy life.
reliable, fuel efficient, storage
its a mini-van.lol

easy to get in , bought after surgery, just right
transmission, high speed turns are tricky
Transmission died, rebuilt transmission installed at 150K miles, new alternator and battery transferable ownership of AAA part to a new owner for life, new tires, body is not perfect
