1998 Pontiac Grand Am Consumer Reviews

I bought my 1998 Grand Am GT used. It had 17,300 on it and was 3 years old. I have had it for 22 years! It has 57,500 miles on it right now. It has been a great car. Basic maintenance. You can't go wrong with a used Grand Am! I love mine!

Got this car about 2 months ago after waiting 4 years to get it i finally got money to pay off the 2012 tags and get it smogged and registered... Love this car! I'm putting all sorts of customizations on it and its really fun and just a great ride.

The SE model is not equipped with an ashtrey. An advantage to non smokers. Its fog lights are a nice feature. Rebuffing the front lens every few years keeps your view at night very clear. Undercoating keeps the undercarriage free of rustholes,including oil undercoating inner fender walls. The wheel bearings need to be updated,because they wear out quickly. Security theft issues for awhile with all Pontiac Grand Am's. I had mine replaced when I found out it was on recall,after it was replaced,it was operating properally.

Was a great car until it got T-boned in a intersection. Car was totaled but no one got hurt. Before that it got great gas mileage, and was a great first car for my daughter.

Bought in 98', ours is a 96' Teal Green color. Bought this one because we didn't like the 4 colors of the 98's. Had 18,000 miles on it. Has been a very very reliable car! ! ! Have not had to put new exhaust system on it. Stainless steel exhause system came on it. Had to put only one set of spark plugs on it and it still runs like new! No new motor... only bought a new water pump for it. One TERRIFC CAR! ! ! Plan on keeping it for a long time! GMC Should start making them again. Have gotten lots of compliments on it! Everyone thinks it is such a cool car! ! ! And we do too! ! !

This car was truely amazing. I bought it from an estate sale from an elder woman. The car had about 50,000 miles on it although i am going to donate it to someone the car has about 180,000 miles on it. This car has never and i mean never left me stranded any where. Although some things have gone wrong but that happens with all cars i was able to still get home and then get the repair done. That happened like literally once or twice. But i was never left stranded any where. I had the 6 cylinder and it is still running today 6/25/14 and starts right up. Need couple things fixed on him right now but runs perfect. Besides normal maintenance and normal wear and tear this car is awesome and i truely loved him (Timmy) my 1995 pontiac grand am with 180,000 miles on him and still starts right up no problem and runs perfect. With that being said this car has been by far one of the best running cars ibe ever owned. And yes ive owned quite a few in my time. If you take care of your car it will take care of you. Look at this it will speak for itself the car is a 95 this is 2014 the car is 19 years old with 180,000 miles on it. If the minor things were fixed i would get right in and drive anywhere in it. The only reason im going to donate it to someone is because i wanted to get something newer. But if i go out right now he will start right up and i know it. Finally Pontiac you did a great job making that car. It is and was an amazing car, well for me it was. I still have and will donate to anyone who can turn a wrench because with a little maintenance you could get inspected and drive it today literally cause he starts right up and runs perfect. Just cosmetic work needed.
