Positive Review
Life partner wanted me to keep it, but I'm keeping Infinity Convertible instead. Great shape for an older car, smooth as silk. Always kept up. Garageman says may need brake pads before long. I'm moving and can't drive 2, so you should get this one.
Critical Review
I have enjoyed the car during the early years but, even having very low mileage (80,000 as of 10/2015), there are some irritating problems that seems to be very common among all of them. The most common is water leakage that works it way under the carpet of the driver seat and even the trunk (where the spare tire is located.) This causes a wire connector under the driver seat to corrode, preventing the power windows from working. I have replaced 4 Ignition coils over the past three years and the control module twice. The module and coils may just be my vehicle because I haven't seen a lot of complaints from others.

This is my 3rd Bonneville, (1993, 1998, 2003). The first 2 Bonneville's were recycled in the family. The 93 had 185k on it the last time I checked. The 98 was sent off to college with a son for 4 years and 1 year of graduate school. It was rear- ended at 187K and it was totaled because of the mileage. Never a problem except of the usual GM problems with those cars. Bottom line, I have had a Bonnie since 93. Sturdy, runs and drives very smooth, those seats are like your favorite recliner. I am getting about 25 mpg overall and almost 30 mpg on an interstate trip. Great visibility and a shame that Pontiac was discontinued.
Gas mileage, battery under seat, lasts forever
None
I've had this car for 16 years, bought it brand new for $21,000 and it has never let me down. Because this model has the battery underneath the back seat, my factory battery lasted for 11 years! The 2nd one has lasted 5 years so far. I have 137,000 miles on it and never had to replace anything major, tho I've always kept up with the standard maintenance. Great gas mileage, smooth ride, great handling. I do have one issue with the wiring to the rear lights, which causes the bulbs to go out once a year or so. That's fairly new, tho. I've never had problems with this car, otherwise. It's been a dream, and I dread the day I have to give it up.
Fast car I love it
Sits low to ground
Fast and comfy putting tints and and a radio in mine about to make it my summer ride and hopefully get a paint job
It's a runner!!
Don't like the seat belts, they're not adjustable.
I bought this car from a friend, found out that it was stolen and sold to my friend, I found the original owner thru the license plate still on the car, it went thru several owners are the initial theft, therefore the ones doing the driving were not real concerned about caring for it, well, I got it paid the owner and it's legally mine, has alot of unnecessary damage, but she's my Frankenstein, she's coming back to life and never lets me down!!! I recommend this car always, it's comfortable reliable and economical!!
its fun car to drive and comfy
spec are hard to find but have them all now
Bought this car at auction in 2013, my husband loved driving that car, of course things start going wrong and so the overhaul began, you name its brand new, top to bottom, runs like new, but moved to the big city and so the buses work for me, don't need the expense of a car, on soc sec, so looking to sell, its a collectors item now, It loves to travel, a lot of the miles are tow miles, 80 in less than a block, not a good idea for the city, this is a one year made car and specs were hard to fine but i have them all now.
Reliable, Powerful, Comfortable.
A bit cheap looking (plastic trim everywhere)
Got it with 138000 miles on it and wasn't expecting much from a Pontiac, but was pleasantly surprised. Super smooth driving, reliable, comfortable, tightly assembled car. It drives as smooth as my brand new car. No rattles or clunks and it's 16. As tight as a Toyota. It makes me wish Pontiac was still in business.
Powerful, quick, comfortable, good gas
Not enough head room.
Ive had this car for about 6 months now been great im a third owner i bought it with 222k and i drive alot it has 250k on it now and still runs like ot came ofd the factory floor its proud and it knows how to give you a good time comfortable smooth ride amazing handling you feel glued to the ground with the wide low body i love the classic long hood and long dash you visually feel the power it has woth that 3800 roaring ive hauled 2ton loads with it and it dosnt care i drive about 500 miles a week and only fill the tank once a week so its good on gas the only bad thing about this car is the headroom aint the best for someone 6ft tall my grandam had more headroom but thats the only downfall ive only had to do pads and oil and a wiper realay so for a 21yr old its a overall great car
Love features, looks, performance
I like softer cushy rides
Maintenance after about 150,000 miles; front motor mount, rear window regulators, warped rotors if you use ceramic pads, head gasket if you use wrong antifreeze. Ive used semi-synthetic Valvoline in all 4 & no engine issues at 200,000 mi. At 40,000, the steering got tough & could not be lubed, so a different part was installed somewhere in steering shaft.
