Positive Review
I came to love the Aztek late in the life of an Aztek. On a whim, I bought a $1300 well-used bright-yellow Aztek as a temporary vehicle May, 2017. I only planned on driving a few months, then dump it. Within a few months I absolutely fell in love with the ugly-duckling, much maligned people mover. With all the seats in, carries 5 with no problems. With rear seats removed can handle everything I need from the lumber yard. Visibility is great, driving position is super. There's nothing flashy about this car. It's super slow, the styling is odd and people ridicule me for driving it. I get 23mpg on the highway! I have a tailgate I can sit on, drives like glass and it's one of the best dang drivin-movie cars ever! But after 2.5 years and practically NO MAINTENANCE I'm the one laughing. What work I had to do was easy. Sure it has some mechanical quirks, but after 18 years and a quarter-million miles, what vehicle doesn't? The transmission is gimpy, I have a couple of electrical issues I have to deal with and I'll have to park the 'Aztek Warrior' soon. But I will NEVER give it up! Ever.
Critical Review
People say it is ugly and weird. It loses its value quickly.I think it drives just fine. It lasts. The gas mileage gets 20 mpg average. It has an option to fold down the seats and add a tent and sleep in it. If you like camping but prefer to stay off the ground then that is a plus.

Good sound system drives great and very versatile
Hard to find parts and the engine compartment is t
Love this car got a deal on it and drove it longer then it's life expectancy besides the starter being in the worst place ever and the engine compartment being very hard to work in I really am sad they don't make these anymore
Low parts costs simple maintenance it will last but you have to meticulously take care of it so things don’t fall apart quickly
Fun unique versatile vehicle, lots of great features and that people aren't familiar with, such as you can fit a full size mattress in the back and close the hatch and tailgate if you don't have the optional tent or don't feel comfortable with the surrounding areas and lock the doors but can still star gaze thru the big back windshield!! Fun and Comfortable, but definitely not a race car, but has enough power to get the job done and very economical....so for 2 people or millennial people,, this ugly, but Beautiful and unique vehicle is the way to travel cross country or cross town, and you will truly be noticed..especially if you have a Yellow one of these like mine is!!! Mellow Yellow
Car disengages AWD when you have spares
Changing alternator thermostat plugs aren’t easy
I have 2004 AWD When my son was playing football this car was and is still amazing! My car was always full of boys which easily handled many of them and took a beating like a champ! Very comfortable for road trips extremely reliable and did great in the snow! With over 174,000 mi aztek still has lots of purr and power
Extremely versitile, AWD is great off-road, tent
Difficult changing rear spark plugs & thermostat
I've owned two Azteks so far. 2001 front wheel drive and a 2004 AWD. It was never on my list of vehicles to buy but, I got the 2001 from my friends who bought it new. It's hauled dirtbikes, four-wheelers and the wave runner with ease. I picked up the 2004 because it was AWD and I had the tent/mattress combo already. It's now lifted with all terrain tires and is a blast on trails and fun for camping out on weekends. They look odd but drive great.
Better of 10 vehicles test drove today
Boxie roll over probability w poor design noshocks
Out of all 10 vehicles i set out to prospectively purchase one today this was the Better of them all in every department. However I Hate the layout when u climb in and sit in the seat. And it feels top heavy. Not impressed. I test drove vehicles like the 2005 ford fusion and a Kia not sure what model... And a 2011 ford escape... All were trash! Trashed out and pathetic I traveled from brownstown, Indiana to Indy to Anderson , Indiana and to Whiteman and Seymour b4 returning home to brownstown Empty handed I visited Andy Mohr who should be ashamed by bringing me out a wrecked 2005 ford fusion that had NO brakes so if I did buy it how would I sadly get home!?? To hubler auto sales in Edinburgh or Columbus all of which Were a Total waste of my Time! Ridicolus.

Love seeing higher n has zip. Love tailgate seats
None except too small now.
This car is positively best car I have had. Still run great n comfortable for long drives. Fairly good gas milage. Avg 22 mpg. Selling due to needing more seats. Would keep if I could afford to keep titled n insured. Bought it new. Been maintained by professionals only n regular oil changes.
