Positive Review
I bought this vehicle for my wife who travels over 30 miles to work. She loves it. I drive a 2006 Nissan Altima that is a better fit for me. I am 6'2" and 260lbs. The Verssa has a surprising amount of space especially the back seat and trunk. I like the fact that the car has anti lock brakes and stability anti skid electronic braking. Also it has 6 air bags so I feel it is safe for my wife. The ride is excellent and well damped. It is hard to believe this car only weighs 2500 lbs. My wife is not an aggressive driver and is getting a little over 43 miles per gallon. It has dramatically cut our fuel bill. A couple of complaints. One is you have to buy the top SL model to get the rear folding seats. Also there is no center arm rest. Lastly the cup holder in front of the shift hits my lower leg and is uncomfortable to the point that when I drive I must put a pillow between it and my leg. I really wish Nissan would address this annoyance. If you like good handling cars look elsewhere. The handling is competent and secure but not exciting. Other than that great little car. Very solid feel and good quality. For the money it is hard to beat. thanks for reading Ralph
Critical Review
I purchased this car after being in an accident where I was hit in the back and the insurance company decided to total my car. I did not want to make car payments so I was looking for the least expensive new car I could find and that turned out to be the Nissan Versa S. I have been driving the car for about a month and what I can say is that the car starts every time I turn the ignition and it gets me where I want to go. It is surprisingly roomy as far as head room and room in the back. This car has a 5 speed manual transmission and I find that I drive in 5th gear most of the time as it get to over 3K RPM's by the time you are doing 40 MPH in 4th gear. The car after 3 fuel fill ups is averaging about 35 MPG combined highway and city. Now let me describe the down side of owing this car. This trim besides the A/C, Bluetooth and steering wheel controls for the stereo has no common amenities you would expect in any car made in the past 20 years by a major car company. It has no center storage console or any nice little storage place for things like sunglasses. It does have a crazy deep glove compartment where anything you put in it gets lost. It does not have a trunk release (key only). It has one key lock on the drivers door which makes locking and unlocking the back doors very difficult, especially the way the door locks are designed being put near the inside door handle. The thing that is taking the most getting use to for me is how the gas peddle is so close to the center dashboard column, my right leg rests against this column while driving and it is just not very comfortable. I would have purchased power door locks if that were an option on this trim model but I would have had to go up 2 trim models to get this one feature and I didn't want to pay an extra $3,000 - $4,000 since the goal was to pay as little as possible. I am going to put in some after market power door locks and trunk release to make the car a bit nicer to drive. I am also experimenting with after market center consoles for storage and an arm rest. I also found an interesting little device that fits in a cup holder that has 2 USB ports and 2 12 volt power ports that I can plug into the one existing power port behind the hand brake. It was almost like the people that engineered this car went out of their way to take out any and all of the little amenities that most of us take for grant it in any car. Even the steering wheel controls are ergonomically so badly placed to make them almost unusable. I would have given up those controls and the Bluetooth in a second for what I consider the standard amenities that I have described. All in all the car works for transportation to get from point A to point B but if you drive a lot I would not recommend it, at least not this low end S trim model as it lacks almost any of the creature comforts that most of us spoiled Americans have come to expect in a new car.

Good gas mileage, decent power for a 4 cylinder, reliable engine, has cruise control
Bad transmission, no amenities such as power locks and windows, anti theft, and digital radio.
I bought a used 2013 versa with 196000 miles on it back in 2021 and at first it was a great car. Got me from point a to point b with little to no issue. As I drove it more (and believe me, I drove that thing A LOT) I started noticing that the transmission would slip when accelerating. I looked into it, and apparently this model year was made with a CVT (Consistent variable transmission) which is notorious for failing as it is ran on a belt and not a gearbox. I wouldn't recommend considering this car or anything from Nissan that's older than 06 because most of the models they made past that point have the same transmission in it and it WILL give you problems. These things are bound to fail at some point. Other than the transmission it was a good car with reasonable space and a pretty reliable 4 cylinder engine.
Gas mileage good
No extras
2015 Nissan Versa sedan no accidents Basic model no extras 50 thousand miles fair tires interior no issues 1 owner
Reliable
I have owned mine since 0 miles I'm sitting at 150k miles and I've had no issues with it. Definitely recommend.
I bought my Versa Note used a few years ago. It had less than 100,000 miles at the time. It has been nothing but repairs ever since. I got a good deal on the car, but I've spent $7000+ on repairs this year alone. I'm done with it. So at 130,000 miles I consider this car a junker.
Yes please yesknjjkkkggdcgj thank you for this amazing giveaway I hope you can join us soon and also thank you so many people
Extended warranty for recalled CVT transmission only covers up to 84k miles. Mine went out at 90k, so no help or replacement. Transmission costs almost as much of the care. Not worth it. At all.
First and foremost, it might genuinely be one of, if not THE ugliest cars you can possibly get. Besides that, the car is terrible and not reliable at all. My engine light was legit always on, no matter how many repairs I got. The AC stopped working at around 80,000 miles. It would get over heated somewhat frequently and I’d get stranded. I would get a ridiculous amount of flat tires too. Literally as I’m writing this I can’t help but laugh out loud. Like I said, meme car!! The cherry on top was that at about 120,000 miles the transmission completely went out, leaving me once again…. stranded. I wouldn’t wish this car on my worst enemy lol.
Ok gas mileage
Terrible Transmission
These cars have the garbage CVT transmissions. Do not buy one! This car has died with only around 140,000 miles!
