Positive Review
i've had this 2008 rogue for 3 months and almost 9000 miles and love every mile of it. i didn't want a big vehicle to replace by totalled grand caravan; but wanted many of the bells and whistles. best is the moonroof, BOSE sound system, bluetooth. CVT took some getting used to (sounds like the clutch slipping when flooring it), but very happy with the pick up for a 4 banger. mileage has been excellent - cruising on flat roads at 55-60, i can average over 30 mpg. if you need a big vehicle, with power to tow and carry lots of stuff, don't get this. but if you need something for commuting (i drive over 160 miles/day), am almost 6' and occasionally carry my wife, 2 adult children, and some gear (and Scotties), then this is perfect.
Critical Review
until the transmission died I was happy with this vehicle. after my transmission died I found out about ALL the problems with the cvt. nissan only offers a rebuilt with a ONE YEAR waranty! This should have been recalled, never buy a nissan with cvt!

Clean original owner, dependable local transportation, owned and operated by elderly couple. Rarely driven out of town.
I've owned my 2013 Nissan Rogue SV AWD since day 1. Purchased from a dealer in june 2013. As of today this vehicle has 106,000 miles on it. I have taken this vehicle from NY to Florida several times with no issues. The CVT is way better for acceleration. I can pass cars on a freeway at 90 -95mph with eas, althouh I do not do this often. I owned it in NY from 2013 - 2015. I then moved south in 2015 and still own it as of this review January 2025. It is now driven in Georgia as a daily driver with no issues. Maintenance: I switched to 5w-30 synthetic oil after the firsy year. I change my own oil every 5,000 miles. I replaced the brake pads once at around 80.000 miles. I am still on the original rotors. Replaced tires 3x. First alignment in 2024 after replacing left side leaking boot from CV axle. I also replaced the sway bar lings and lower control arms mainly because the bushings are starting to dry out. I also sprayed all underside bushings with a rejuvinator. wipers, cabin filters, air filters, spark plugs once, flushed radiator once & most importantly drianed CVT fluid, NOT FLUSHED, and refilled with exact amount removed extends the CVT. I track all my repairs and to this date comes to $4,046. That's about $350 a year in maintenace average. My main reason for purchasing the nissan rogue was the comfortable drivers seat and just enough cargo space. The engine is still solid and the frame and other critical parts are holding up .BTW, I still haave the original muffler. This Vehicle will not let me buy a pick-up truck. I pais $24,000 for the rogue. A truck would cost $80,000+ with less reliability. I also still get 25mpg on my 4.2 engine.
It is kbb value sucks.
Kbb value sucks.
They should be $7000 private sale and around $4000 for trade in. There should be more value since the vehicle is in good condition and is drivable. Wow. Seriously.
bought the car 2nd hand … had it for 2 months the transmission gave in we had it replaced went for 2 months and the same thing happened … shocking !!!! no help apparently this particular model has this problem but no recall !!
Well make sure that the factory recalls has be fixed .
Well I didn't buy the 2011 I bought the the 2015 with all the same amenities and more.s
Yes I did it's from Hunter Subaru in Fletcher NC. Thanks you guys. They gave me what I wanted not what they thought they could talk me into buying.
The first 40k mile was fine. Then it started giving us problems. A few times on highway, the car lost power while driving. Car won't start when it's below freezing outside. Car driver side flooded a couple times when it rained. We still haven't figured out why or how that happened. We have owned this car since 2013 and only put 90k miles on it.
Ease of handling, parking etc
Would like larger seats
Extra clean, one owner, kept in garage, back up camera, automatic, cd player, cruise control, weather tech mat in cargo area
See all your surroundings short people
Battery died if not driven more than once a month
Love the feel of driving this auto. Great for a 5'2" person to see all surroundings. Air conditioner is cools fast! I don't drive much so a flip-up last 6 months for me.
