Positive Review
Hope they make this model again. Love it and would buy another one!! The price was a little high for a new car, but it is a great vehicle and a lot of fun. We get MANY compliments and questions about it every where we go since there are not many around.
Critical Review
I would like to provide a surprising update to my previous posting on April 5th 2009. This was on a 2009 Murano SL AWD. My feelings quickly changed shortly after posting my last review when I had to address an issue with my engine to Nissan. The engine would make a squealing noise at lower RPM (1,500-2,000). This is generally where the RPM was during light acceleration which would be maintaining your cruising speed in normal traffic. I dealt with two different Nissan dealers in my city as well as Nissan Consumer Affairs, all of which said the noise was normal and was the hydraulics in the CVT engine. Before I was told this, the service manager of a Nissan dealer heard the noise and agreed with me it was not normal. However because of the reason he was provided by the Nissan tech people, he sided with them and I was left to deal with the noise. I however have found several postings on various websites where I was clearly not the only person to be dealing with this issue. I also found the consumer affairs people at Nissan to be very unkind and could care less about the quality of the vehicles with their name on it. In July 2010 I reached my boiling point. My gas gauge had been reading incorrectly, not showing full after filling the tank, at one point it even read empty and the trip computer was flashing low tank however it said I had 107 miles to empty. I addressed this to the dealer who said they checked the vehicles computer system and it was not showing any issues with the car. I described exactly what I was experiencing and said “so based on what I am telling you the car is doing, should something have been recorded on the vehicles computer system?” I was told “yes.” My response was “then sounds like you have another issue.” I was speaking with the service manager mind you, and he said he had a pretty good idea what part needed to be replaced but without really seeing the issue at that very moment, he wouldn’t replace anything. I expressed my frustrations with him and the way Nissan handles their service and issues with vehicles, I told him they do not stand by their products. His response to me was “we don’t make them, we just fix them.” Well that’s hard to believe, because they couldn’t even fix my issues. So, that same day I entered the dealership of another auto maker and was able to trade that thing (Murano) after 22 months of a 39 month lease I was actually not upside down and even traded for more than my payoff. So long Nissan. I will never purchase a product from you again and will not recommend your products and will tell everyone I can about my experience with you .

Bought this car new in 2011, have had it serviced regular, only minor issues in the past 13-14 years Batteries, tires, the alternator was also replaced, all things considered it has been a very good car, my wife loves it, i personally wasn't crazy about it, i didn't like the rather stiff ride, and it was difficult for me to see the road dirrectly on ftont of the car.
Want a good review. Looking to buy a used car. Don’t know how this is thought of in the market. Hope this works.
Quiet ride, comfortable seats
none
I owned a 2012 SL for two years. Sadly, I rear ended someone and the air bags deployed. I estimated the cost to fix it about $8000, however, apparently when the air bags are deployed, the computer module gets fried, and the vehicle was "totalled." . The insurance co. gave me a fair shake so I bought a 2014 SL, with 26,000mi. That was in 2016. Today I have 80,000 mi on her. Not a lick of trouble. I love this vehicle. Ride, quiet, easy handling, comfortable seats, and still looks great. I had read about the frame rust issues, and living in WI I was vigilant about getting her washed often. My brother-in-law's 2008 SL was rusted completely through the frame after 7 years. I'm on my second set of Goodyear Assurance tires. They're great. Had two sets on an Infiniti QX40 several years ago. The mileage isn't great..avg 19.2 mixed driving. The other issue is when I put the seats down in back to haul something, and put them back up, the seat belts end up under the seat and I have to dig them out. Every time I think about trading up, with a trade in value of $10,000, I realize it's not worth the risk of getting a lemon, I'll keep this one til she drops.
Drivers seat is killing my back and bottom
The driver's seat is KILLING my back & bottom! The seat adjustments are NOT doing the trick. I have had the car two weeks & have purchased seat cushions which provide some relief but not enough. I want to sell the car back... 😩.
Great mechanics, accelerates quickly, style good
Seats are not made for a comfortable long trip
I bought this vehicle new and I now have 73,000 miles. This has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. The mechanics have been great - all I have ever needed were the every day type maintenance - oil changes, brakes battery and tires. I honestly thank my Lord each day for my great running vehicle.
Well maintained vehicle, newer tires, newly tuned up, good brakes, fairly clean SUV . Has some exterior scratches & stone on the front hood
Great customer service! Been a great, reliable, dependable vehicle. Love the way it drives. Would keep it for ever, if it would last forever!
