Positive Review
I bought my first Nissan Maxima in 2000 and LOVED THAT CAR!! In an attempt to get more car for my money I traded in 2005 for an Audi A6 Turbo... and then traded the Audi in for a Mercedes CLK in 2007. While both the Audi and the Mercedes were both nice cars, because of maintenance costs and reliability.... in 2008 I traded and went into a lease of a 2009 Max when the new body style came out. My lease came to an end this year and i chose to purchase my third Max in 2011, and submitted to the fact that pound for pound the Max is the biggest bang for my bucks!! Luxury, Performance, Reliability, and Style are the bases for my choice. You can't get more car for the money!! Believe me... I've tried.
Critical Review
Very reliable and sporty handling. The CVT transmission doesn't shift predictably until it is warmed up. If pushed from low speed, say rolling away from a stop light, the engine sounds great but clearly the transmission is holding it back. i really do not like the way this transmission operates in either day to day or spirited driving. Other complaints include the fact the blue tooth audio will often drop the connection to my iPhone5 and I am unable to reconnect until I turn the car off and back on. I'll never buy a Nissan again after owning several Maxima's over the last 15 years

This is the 2nd Maxima I have owned and my first one I put 250,000 miles on it and had zero work on it! I did take care of it very well but drove it until I needed something bigger. The kid I sold it to drove it a couple more years. You can not go wrong with this car. I'm at 169,000 with this one and have loved every moment of its reliability and power!!
My own came with more refro looking radio system
Low profile wheels are more expensive 2 replace
My first two vehicles were low, old and rough. After getting rid of those I got this from my cousin. For my first nice car it had great handling and power so it was quite fun. Ofc I was a anxious cuz I heard nissan has a bad rep for transmissions however never had any real issues. I think this car is prefect if ur looking for something a Lil more than a v4 that is affordable, or for someone that needs to understand the value of a car.
City Mileage 21, Highway -25. Runs Amazing, Very comfortable !! Leg space in front seat is Very Good. Interiors have luxury feeling. Very well suited for Illinois winter weather with heated steering and front seats !!
gas milage
difficult to work on; bad trans; not sporty; heavy
Transmission is trash in this car, it is somehow sold as a "sporty car" even though it's extremely heavy, the engine has problems with water pump failures, and the styling is terrible. Better spent buying a Miata and slapping a turbo in it.
Handling, traction, and roomy
under-the-hood space, basic s package is dull
Bought this car used at 22,000 miles and hasn’t given me any major problems as of yet and I’m at 123,000 miles. Biggest mechanical issues were alternator, spark plugs, and starter replacements. Both were inexpensive at the time and fairly easy DIY maintenance. The alternator not so much.
Drives and rides good!

This car has been amazing! Hasn’t given me any issues. I keep the oil changed and she runs like a champ! Extremely comfortable and rides good and smooth. The sound system is top of the line, Bose has always been a favorite!
Engine is quiet
The car runs excellent. I got offered 3,200 for it on a trade in. I haven’t had any problems with it. It has low profile tires and it’s just a great riding car
fun to drive

The car has been a great second car for us. We bought the car at the local Nissan dealership and have been snow birds to Sebring for 10 years. Due to our health conditions, we have made the decision to be back to PA and just vacation in Florida off and on. The car has been serviced regularly at the local Nissan dealership.
