Positive Review
I purchased this car after searching for over a year to find a college car. The Transmission is known to have issues, my tranny went out ~ 160k but 230k into it the new one hasn't had any issues. It shifts smooth and downshifts at appropriate times. The power of this vehicle is simply admirable for its age and mileage being peppy and not requiring much effort. My average MPG is 23 in mixed driving. This car has been perfect, ride is extremely comfortable in both the front and rear seats, it is my road trip warrior. Overall, I would highly recommend the 2004-2009 Nissan Maxima to anybody looking for a different, but usable sedan in the used market.
Critical Review
Have owned many Nissans. My last Maxima had 220,000 miles and was running great when I sold it. I loved this Nissan when I bought it. It began jerking when I changed gears around 90,000 miles. The transmission in these from 2004 - 2006 have issues causing the transmission to slip. Nissan has not stood behind their product refusing to correct the issue. A class action lawsuit has been filed but no telling how long that will take. Attempted to trade it in at a Nissan dealership, but they only wanted to give me $1000.00 for it because they know of the transmission issues. (My car is in very good condition other than the transmission and should have gotten at least $4500-$5000 for a trade-in.)This is the reason I bought a Subaru and will NEVER own another Nissan.

Ease to drive.
Little noise at slow speed
New battery, tire in good shape but must sell car because of my age and can not get insurance and drivers license.
Still runs well over 250,000 miles
Not an expert. Is high rev a con? Always 2 or over
I love my 2007 Maxima. It has 254,000 miles on it, just passed inspection, and up until a couple of weeks ago, still reliable and ran well. Heated leather seats with no rips, Bose stereo, air and heat still work. According to carfax, the transmission has never been replaced but now it’s going. I think it’s time, I’m so sad to have to give it up..
good car great drive uts ggod air goor=d tire goo225+6125865125+6165145+612561561456165165165 condition
Gas mileage could be better
Roomy, comfortable sporty. A sturdy car that has held up very well. Tires, brakes, and oil, that's all. Nicly optioned.
Looks good. Great interior and comfort.
The transmission has to be replaced, not repaire.
Comfy, cool, and a dud!! Do NOT fall into the trap of this car. It's extremely comfortable and extremely expensive to fix. Even the light bulbs for the stupid things are expensive and difficult to put in. Nothing is easy and everything costs a fortune to fix. Here's the worst part. The transmission that will absolutely go out on you because they make it that way, can't be worked on. The filter can't even be replaced. The entire freaking transmission has to be replaced. If you don't believe, look it up. Don't buy this car. If you still insist on buying this car, please buy mine!!!!!
Rides like smooth like a new car plenty of power a
There are no cons it's a quite smooth ridevy
