Positive Review

"Very happy so far."

I traded my 2012 Altima SL for a 2020. I must have hit it just right, end of month, end of quarter, I felt like I got a great deal. I was very happy with the 2012, 64000 miles, only repair was a $300 alternator. The 2020 is noticeably more powerful, even though the engines are the same. The biggest difference I noticed is the gas mileage. I never got better than 27 MPG with the 2012. My first highway trip with the new one I got an amazing 39 MPG. I am averaging 34 MPG city/highway, which I love. I really like the exterior styling and think it stands out compared to the Camry and Accord. I shopped all three cars, and while all are good, in my opinion the Altima is by far the best value. I do wish it had memory seating, and believe it should at the SL price point. My wife and I share it, it's a pain to always change the seat settings. I know, minor issue, quit whining. Otherwise I am very pleased so far, the car is extremely comfortable, performs well, and looks great.

Critical Review

"Don't Judge a Book by its Cover!"

I certainly was fooled by the great design of my 2019 Altima. The red color certainly made the car very outstanding. With all its beauty came ugliness. I now own the car over 2 years and the CVT transmission still jerks back and forth while driving under 10 mph. My wife and I are so frustrated with this. It actually is causing neck problems with all the stuttering back and forth. For over 2 years each time I bring the car into Nissan for this issue,I am told it is a software problem. Still, till this date,no software updates. Don't get fooled by this car's looks,it is very deceiving. I would consider other 4 door sedans before considering a Nissan Altima!!!!

2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SR
Pros

Very reliable, Smooth ride w/ minimal interior noise and great price

Cons

Needs a better premium sound system, lacking rear seat vents on SR model, inferior infotainment display brightness/quality

I bought my 2020 Altima SR in May 2024. Bought used thru Car Max in Columbia,SC but had to have the car I wanted shipped from Springfield,IL. It had low mileage at only 28,545 miles. Almost fully loaded with the exception of the Moon roof, heated/cooled seats, and heated mirrors. I was okay with not having those options since my car I owned previously had those features and weren’t used often enough for the price they cost. The Altima handles extremely well on the road with minimum interior noise and smooth ride. I like the SR package since it gives it that extra bit of a sporty look. The exterior color is black and the interior is also black with the SR orange/reddish trim detailing in true interior. I like that the care doesn’t really have any blind spots. This was a big problem I had with my 2011 Buick Lacrosse I previously owned. I haven’t had any issues with engine get up and go performance. I received multiple random compliments on my car mostly while at the gas station. The only disappointments I have with it are the following: the premium sound system could definitely be upgraded even though they are Harmon Kardon speakers. The sound volume and quality are lacking, also the interior black dashboard and door finishes could use a bit more pizzazz, it falls a bit flat unless your constantly applying armor all to it. Also would be nice if it had a heads up display feature like my Buick Lacrosse. In addition I’m extremely puzzled as to why the SR trim package excluded the rear air vents and USB plug in. The last concern I have is the infotainment display screen appears to either be going bad or was purposely built to not be very luminescent and bright. It can be quite difficult to see the screen clearly during the day when the sunlight shines directly on it. Besides those minor issues I’m extremely pleased with the purchase of my 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SR sedan.

Smooth Ride and Quiet!
Pros

Great styling, gas mileage, ride, and comfort

Cons

Seats could be a tad wider.

I purchased the Altima in February of 2022. I have enjoyed this car so much! It gets great gas mileage and has an amazing smooth right. Also when all the windows are up it’s extremely quiet inside. Pretty amazing actually how quiet it is. You can still hear what’s going on outside but nothing like in other vehicles I have owned. It also has quite a few safety features like lane change alert and backup alerts as well as automatic breaking if there’s someone in front or behind you. I’m very happy with this car! Good price too.

2021 Altima & Sentra

I bought a 2021 Nissan Sentra and a 2021 Nissan Altima in April 2021. I had to have a brand new motor put in my 2021 Nissan Sentra in August 2023 with only having 13,000 miles on it. It was an hassle trying to get it replaced eventhough it is still under warranty. My 2021 Altima had to have transmission work done at 20,000 miles in August 2023. I only have 26,600 miles on the Altima now as of 02/26/24. My Sentra has 15,000 miles now as of 02/26/24 my mom drives the Sentra.

Economy Car!
Pros

Economy, Price, Gas Mileage, Design, JDM

Cons

Speed, Not Ideal For Racing

The 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SR (4D SEDAN) presents itself as a solid choice in the economy car segment, prioritizing practicality and affordability without compromising on essential features. One of its key selling points is its impressive fuel efficiency, making it an excellent option for those looking to save money on gas without sacrificing comfort and style. While some reviews might criticize its performance, it's essential to understand that the Altima isn't marketed as a high-performance vehicle. Instead, it excels as a reliable daily driver, offering a smooth and comfortable ride suitable for city commutes and highway cruising. Most trims come with front-wheel drive, which is standard for vehicles in this class. While this setup might not be ideal for harsh weather conditions like heavy snow, it's sufficient for typical driving scenarios. However, potential buyers in regions with severe winters should consider this limitation and plan accordingly. Overall, the 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SR delivers on its promise as an economy car, providing excellent value for money, fuel efficiency, and practicality. For budget-conscious consumers seeking a reliable and comfortable sedan for their daily transportation needs, the Altima is undoubtedly worth considering

Car goes in Limp Mode in the cold and snow
Pros

Nice looking

Cons

Unsafe and not reliable

Nissan has not stood behind this major issue with their vehicles which are going into Limp mode when driving in the cold/snow. My car has less than 18K miles and this has happened twice in 2 years and was towed to the dealer to have it reset. I filed two complaints w/ Nissan customer relations as well as the dealer. Both have denied helping with the issue. Both times the sensor was reset and they tell you the issue is fixed. I live in the midwest and I do not have an option to not drive my car in cold/snowy weather even though this is a nationwide issue. I hope anyone looking at Nissan will take time to google complaints as there are many talking about this happening due to the sensors in the front of the vehicles getting packed w/ snow and throwing the engine into failure. When this happens it only allows the engine to go 5-15 miles an hours and your dash lights are flashing Eng. This is a huge problem when your on the hwy in a snowstorm and have passengers in the back due to the speed is reduced down to just to find a safe spot to have your car towed to a dealer. The worst part is Nissan knows this is happening and the fear of it becoming a deadly issue, yet they refuse to acknowledge it. I was told there will have to something such as a fatality before they will fix it from both the dealer and a customer relations representative. This is my 3rd vehicle with Nissan in 30 years as I have been a loyal customer but there is no loyalty from this company in keep their customers happy and most importantly safe. BUYER BEWARE!

seats and features
Pros

accelerates, drives well, larger camera

Cons

seat comfort and reduced technology

Bought a 2024 Altima SV, I like the way the car handle but there's a couple of things that I don't care for. First thing is when I test drove the car It drove very good in the city but I took a road trip after I bought it and after an hour into the ride my legs started hurting and the seat started feeling very uncomfortable, I don't know if they made the seat shorter and not as wide but it was not a comfortable ride on the highway. The second thing is the last vehicle I purchased was in 2017 and the one feature that was a must for me was the CD player and this 2024 didn't come with one and I told my salesman had I known that I would not have purchase this car. Satellite radio is fine but it fades in and out at times and on the road I like listening to CD's.

Solid daily.

It does the job well. I commute two hours to work weekly and it’s been as smooth as it can be. Saves money on gas. Just keep up on maintenance you shouldn’t have any issues. I test drove other sedans but for the price I got mine brand new I wouldn’t be able to get a toyota for example. Who pays 40k for a sedan these days anyway? For 40k, get you a V8 sporty car tbh. Overall, love my leather seats and apple carplay. Keeping it for many years until the wheels fall off.

Awesome Car
Pros

Every thing about the vehicle

Cons

Haven't come across any.

The Nissan Altima SR is a great car for the price. It comes with several options. If you want a sporty yet practical vehicle this is the car. It has a sleek sporty look but has four doors and plenty of room in the back seat, and a nice size trunk. It comes with so many safety options yo where if you hit something you really messed up. The seats are very comfortable, nice sound system, and plenty of storage spaces in the cab. It has great pick up and go, and handles very well. I think I'm going to keep this car for awhile. Highly recommend.
