Positive Review

"fantastic hybrid!"

Everything I hoped this vehicle would be and more! I found the gas mileage to be exactly as advertised. 37mpg after 4 hours on the highway averaging 55-65 mph. (About 34 mpg averaging 60-70mph.) City driving was 42 mpg. Nice to have enormous gas tank for car its size: 20 gallons! Trunk space a bit lean, but high ceiling allows you to fit more than what you originally might think. Good comfort, even sitting in the back seat. Don't have any of the available creature comforts such as moonroof, Bluetooth, etc., but base model has everything that I really need and then some. $2350 tax credit on this vehicle now and in the near future certainly not to be ignored. Highly recommend!

Critical Review

"Good car with some flaws"

Altima is sporty, powerful, good looking, and overall good-quality car. I haven't had any major problems with it since my purchase in 2010. Now it has over 8k miles and runs great. Handles great for a family sedan. There are many minor issues with it though. Biggest one is - NOISE. I didn't expect it to be luxurious by any means, but it's rather noisy for the car of this class. On acceleration, engine sounds like a lawnmower. It also vibrates when driving at low speeds. Second, I still can't get used to CVT. It's smooth when driving at high speeds, but at low speeds and when accelerating it's jerky. This is my first new car and I don't know if all economy sedans are like that, but Altima has quite a rough ride. I can feel every bump on the road. When driving on rough roads it feels like I am riding a carriage (no shocks). Overall good car, but I don't think I will ever buy another Altima unless Nissan fix all the issues mentioned above.

My ride or die through my entire 20’s!!

I’ve had my 2012 Nissan Altima coupe 3.5 SR for 9 years.. I honestly still get into my car and think to myself “wow I love my car.” Although I complain about my auto bills in reality It’s been so reliable especially with how I’ve driven it over the years, I’m so grateful. I’ve spent about $900 in maintenance per year which is average. I bought with 44,000 miles on it and now there’s 160,000 miles on it. In my honest opinion I know it can handle another 100,000 at least. I’m unfortunately selling it for the reason only being that I want to acquire my dream car while I’m still young. I’ve always said I’d drive it til the wheels fall off ..but someone else will have to do that hard part because I’d be a devastated wreck if I witnessed it’s death. Long story short, it’s been worth every penny and I highly recommend buying one.

Great Vehocle

Quite simply the best vehicle that I have ever owned. After 12 years and nearly 150,000 miles, this car still runs and drives like new. It still gets great gas mileage, has plenty of power, and none of the many bells and whistles that came with have given me any trouble. On top of that, it has passed four consecutive smog inspections with flying colors.

Best value
Pros

Cheap, reliable and long lasting

I bought this Hybrid model new for $20k, till date only maintenance i have performed is oil change, break pad and tiers, all this is regular up keep . Around 140k miles i had to replace the engine mounts. This is has been a excellent and reliable buy. I still get 35 miles per gl in city. Still dealer serviced, and is expected to last another 50k miles.

Overall a good ride
Pros

Sporty, MPG, and sound system

Cons

Loud, The CVTs

I’ve had the 6 speed for 250k miles and only recently did I have to replace it due to gear issues, but if I say so myself it’s far better then the CVT that’s been floating around. You’ll see those break down and need new belts every 50k. I’m still running the same engine at 260k. These inline 4s are bulletproof and I would snag one if you’re planning on buying an older Altima and a standard transmission.

Reliable fun to drive sedan
Pros

Performance

Cons

Takes Premium gas

I’ve had this 2008 for 9 years zero engine problems, everything still works. The V6 is fun the drive and the sport shift makes it even more fun! My 3.5 SE V6 has gone on long trips, thru snow, it’s a stylish workhorse that has some get up and go. It looks like a mom car, but drives like a higher end vehicle. It’s the same engine and platform as Infinity G35. Im regretting selling it already, but I got a new 2018 car. Con it takes premium gas!
