Positive Review

"nice suv for the price."

Just bought the 2021 outlander, my first SUV in a long time. So far seems like a great car, I like the fact that is a compact SUV that fits great in my small garage. The motor is quiet and rides are fairly smooth, also has great air conditioning and cargo space. Inside is somehow similar to the eclipse cross, not all the way but it has some similarities. The interior seems a little simple in my model, but it has a few extras. Overall is a nice car, perfect for everyday use, errands and other things.

Critical Review

"Catalytic Converter"

My new vehicle with 3,008 miles on it was held at the dealer for around 5 months to have the catalytic converter replaced after it was stolen 7 weeks after I had purchased it. After countless calls to the dealer and Customer relations, Mitsubishi was unable to expedite the part or help in any matter to have my vehicle repaired earlier, and basically said that it was out of theirs hands. If you plan on purchasing a Mitsubishi vehicle, keep in mind, that your vehicle may be at the dealer longer than you more reputable dealer.

Durable and reliable
Pros

Durable, dependable, attractive

Cons

No PHEV or hybrid op

This is a great bargain. My spouse purchased an Outlander Sport 2 weeks after I had purchased a new generation Outlander. This has a smoother ride due to only having 18" wheels vs the 20s I have in my Outlander. It's nimble and has features such as apple car play/android auto and since we have an SE, it has the automatic dimming rear view mirror and power folding mirrors like my Outlander SEL. The interior is no frills and looks like it will last..Auto writers complain about the cvt but it's no different than others a.d helps give this suv decent mileage. Since it's a naturally aspirated engine, you won't have to worry about having a tiny displacement engine with a turbocharger that will burn out. We were so impressed the durability and reliability, we convinced my sister to purchase one. This is an under appreciated and under advertised small SUV. Buy the SE or SEL if you can afford it, it'll give you the most safety features and extra goodies like heated seats, extra USB ports, etc. If you see the competition. This is a proven platform and will outlast any of the competitors. Just see how many older Outlander Sports you see on the road vs other competitors.

Made a big mistake I feel, not impressed. The body is light weight, going through a car wash soap gathers in all door jams, took it to the shop and heard excuses! Fill the tires with air and the indicator light comes on again a day or two later, the shop over filled them? No heated seat, no push start, no keyless entry, no front license bracket, the list goes on and for the price Mitsubishi dropped the ball. They won’t even give me my warranty papers?

Outlander Sport 4wd

I have this car and absolutely love it. I had a 2018 version and was in a head on collision. That car saved my life. My only injuries were from seatbelt and air bag. I felt it held up well so I wanted another outlander.

I’ve been on scooters with better features
Pros

None

Cons

Everything

I had the non-pleasure of having this car as a rental while my 2019 Hyundai Tucson was getting accident repair. After driving this piece of plastic for 5 days now, I can say my Hyundai Tucson feels like a Mercedes G-wagon compared to this thing. Whoever designed this “suv” and whoever thought 23k would be a great starting price has never actually used a vehicle before. First off the bumper is made with the same plastic and feel as a gallon of milk. No joke, the wind can dent it. Secondly, the engine has the power of my push lawnmower. Good luck trying to get to 25mph especially on a hill without feeling like the engine is going to explode. There are literally zero features in this. You have to use a key to start the engine. It’s a 2022 vehicle. The display doesn’t show the speed you are going, like every other vehicle made since 2004. You have to use a knob to use change the volume for the radio. Max volume is barely a 2/10 on my vehicle. It has no other features that come standard in new cars, like CarPlay, lights to see the power window indicators, side view mirror warning indicators or a horn that’s so quiet it wouldn’t even wake up a cat if it was sleeping on the hood. It handles the road as bad as ice skating for the first time. Literally the only thing this vehicle has is a color night back up camera. It must be a mistake though because there is no reason for this vehicle to have such luxury. If this car is was the showpiece prize at the end of The Price Is Right, I would purposely guess a negative dollar amount so I wouldn’t have the burden of having this vehicle. I feel bad for anyone who purchased this vehicle willingly, even if it was a free gift.

Wouldn’t recommend

Overall it looks nice but is very cheap. The back seat rattles whenever you’re driving and now the back left window also rattles while driving both when rolled up and down. Also does not do well at all in the snow, I don’t feel safe driving it. Definitely would look at something else.
