Positive Review

"Great value and peace of mind for the price."

I've been car shopping for years, and have been terrified of making a commitment. However after researching almost every car out there, I noticed how mitsubishi was completely underrated by all the experts yet hailed by the consumers, I even learned how many competitors rely on mitsubishi to make their parts. Kia and Hundea receive their motors from mitsubishi, GM receives parts from mitsubishi, and Ford even uses patented mitsubishi technology and well as VW. So with all these car makers reliant on mitsubishi...they clearly are doing something right. I found the outlander sport and was blown away by the features and price. Their warranty is the BEST, 10 year powertrain, 5 bumper to bumper, 3 year corrosion and 5 year road side assistance. I bought the SE model with the premium package. The sound system is amazing, the sun roof us breath taking and the little things line rear view camera, movable headlight (which are HID) and rain sensing wipers just make it even better. The cvt I was very unsure about because I read numerous complaints about the noise, but coming from a consumer whose driven this car for four hours straight on a trip...the noise is nothing. My old car was a v6 mustang...now that has noise. The pick up speed isn't bad, fairly decent and the mpg gage is really helpful in determining how fast you should be going if you want better fuel economy. It was great handling and lots of features to brag about. It's push to start is also another fun feature, it wasn't necessary, but still cool. I was able to get mine way way way under msrp. If you can as well, by all means but the car, you get so much more for your money as well as added security and peace of mind.

Critical Review

"Looking for a junker??"

Look no more, here's a good junker vehicle just for you.. lol.. Nothing but a money pitt fixing it all the time. It's not worth it, it's a push away vehicle. Many experiences, terrible fuel mileage. It's not a good choice.

Worst Vehicle I've ever Owned.
Pros

Styling,The Functions on the steering wheel and cruise control. And I get around 26 MPG HighwayG

Cons

Interior fabric, reliability, quality, maintenance cost, do not buy this vehicle if you live in a rural area, cheap undercoating,

This vehicle has been nothing but problematic. On my 2nd Transmission and Soon to be next Engine. I have babied this thing and it only has 80,000 miles. I will never buy another mitsubishi. The transmission is very unrefined and jittery. The seats are uncomfortable and cheap but that's just mitsubishi quality. My previous vehicle had 220K Miles original engine and transmission. This is a downgrade to what I had.

Took a Hit

I am going to my Outlander sport! I was in a car accident and my outlander took the hit! I was hit by someone who hit me full speed through a light. My airbags deployed and my door air bag pushed the glass out. The motor mounts broke and the engine shifted right, not into the car! I broke my hand, whip lash, and fractured ribs was I ended up with from the accident. I was able to get out safely, with help. It was a great vehicle, roomy and I had no complaints!! I’m not hesitating buying another outlander sport!!

To be determined

I have owned this vehicle for four years, purchasing it in 2021 as my second vehicle. Initially, I was drawn to its beautiful light Laugauna blue color. It was my first owned car and first SUV, which seemed like the right choice given my need for a small and sporty vehicle to transport my two small children. However, during the test drive, I was unaware that I was supposed to drive it in two-wheel drive, reserving the four-wheel drive for snowy or mountainous terrain. The four-wheel lock feature was also intended for climbing steep, rocky hills. Despite this, I was enamored with the vehicle's exterior and didn't think twice about these details, as I didn't plan on using it for hiking or off-roading. The eco-driving feature and good gas mileage were also selling points for me. Unfortunately, my experience with this vehicle has been marred by several issues. Within two days of driving it, the vehicle stalled on the interstate, displaying an engine overheating error. It wouldn't restart until it had cooled down, and even then, it only started long enough for me to pull over to the side of the road. The transmission had overheated, turning the fluid black. My husband came to my aid, adding transmission fluid and cooling it down, which eventually allowed us to make it home. We took it to get it looked at , where they informed us that the transmission fluid was bad and needed to be changed.Bc of driving it in 4 wheel lock on the interstate . This was just the beginning of my problems with this vehicle. Over the next few months, I experienced issues with the vehicle not starting on cold mornings, the tire pressure light coming on, and the engine light illuminating for no apparent reason. My husband reassured me that these issues were likely due to the cold weather affecting the vehicle's computer and that they would resolve themselves once the vehicle warmed up. However, these problems persisted, causing me significant stress and anxiety, particularly when it came to ensuring my children's safety while driving them to school. As winter approached, the problems worsened, and one day, the vehicle wouldn't start at all. We initially thought it was the battery, but after replacing it, the problem persisted. My husband eventually discovered that the alternator had gone out, likely due to the cold weather. We replaced the alternator, and the vehicle seemed to be running fine again. However, I began to investigate the vehicle's reputation and discovered that it had a history of issues with the motor and computer malfunctioning in cold weather. Despite these problems, the heat functioned well during the winter months. As spring arrived, the issues with the tire pressure and engine warning ⚠️ lights subsided, but a new problem arose with the air conditioning. We added coolant, changed the oil and transmission fluid, and made several improvements, which seemed to resolve the issue for a couple of months. However, as the weather grew hotter, the air conditioning problems returned, requiring us to recharge the system. This cycle of repairs and maintenance continued for the next two years, with the vehicle eventually requiring replacement of four spark plugs and other repairs. In my opinion, I did not have a good experience with this vehicle. While it may have looked appealing, its performance and reliability were subpar. The vehicle struggled to accelerate uphill, and the transmission would slip, causing the vehicle to jerk. Additionally, the air conditioning made a persistent, annoying noise. For a brief period, the vehicle ran smoothly after the initial repairs, but it eventually became a nightmare to own. On one occasion, the vehicle did perform well in an emergency situation, surviving a collision with a deer at 35-40 mph with minimal damage. However, this experience was not enough to redeem the vehicle's overall poor performance. I have since purchased a new vehicle, a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander, which I hope will provide a better driving experience. So far, it has been satisfactory, but only time will tell if it will prove to be a reliable and trustworthy vehicle.

Cons

This vehicle is no good

One of the worst vehicles you can buy. Most likely you will have to replace the transmission, or possibly the engine after the warranty is up. These vehicles don't last very long. They have no reliability, and quality. Forgot your resale value, it's gone. Overall ratings are pathetic!!

Cons

Lot's, Lot's, Lot's of negative feedback

I, couldn't recommend this suv to anyone. It was the worst ever experience renting this vehicle. Talk about a sour ride, this is it. No luxury, no quality of any kind. Overpriced and it's not worth it. To many negatives vs positive. Just a bad reputation suv
