Positive Review
I bought this car in 2009 with 77,000 miles and am now at 154,000. This car has been a dream to own; easy to maintain, fun to drive. It has enough power with the manual transmission to step on the gas and pass when I need to, but not enough to get me into trouble. It's not the most exciting thing to look at. The AC system is one of the most frustrating things about this car; the control knob was broken off when I bought the car, and when I went to look for a salvage part, found that nearly every Mitsubishi of this vintage has this problem. Considering how widespread the problem is, Mitsubishi should have issued a recall years ago, not force customers to order a replacement set from the manufacturer for over $300. Still, this is a minor quibble considering the overall enjoyment I've gotten from this car, and the reliability I've experienced. Besides replacing the oxygen sensor, all I've done to date in six years of ownership is routine maintenance. Much as I wish sometimes for a newer, flashier vehicle, this car has been a champ and I anticipate driving it for years to come.
Critical Review
This has to be the most uncomfortable modern vehicle I've ever driven. The seats in relation to the dashboard and floor make for backache. The lumbar manual adjustment handle broke off the first month I bought it (new). If you drive over 35mph with the rear windows down a little or a lot, your brains will fall out of your head from unmitigated poorly designed air dynamic turbulance. I've maintained it well and I've never broke down except for the battery dying, not Mitsubishi's fault. All of the coach work inside is very poor low quality design. The heater controls had a service bulletin call that Mitsubishi refused to fix properly within the first year of it's purchase. Said they put a filter in the vent swich. This didn't fix ease of operation. I never got more than 24 m/gal hiway and 16-20 in town driving. Rated at 35/30. I wouldn't recommend buying this car for everyday family use, perhaps I will sell it to a teenager to get to school. It is now going on 11 years old and still runs pretty good. The front end chassis began making a creaking/popping noise 3 years ago and 3 different chassis shops couldn't figure it out; it still does it. I've been told the shocks and all chassis parts are in excellant shape.

Comfortable, reliable, sound system, stylish
Parts are hard to find for this model these days
I bought this as my first car at 17 in 2022. It has never failed me. Gets me everywhere I need to go without trouble, rides smooth, and surprisingly has an excellent sound system. I even had passengers ask me where I got my speakers from and I said it was stock. Runs great both on surface streets and on the highway, and even at 21 years old this car runs better than some of the newer cars in my family. I absolutely love this car and I am looking to keep it for as long as it runs and maybe even invest some money into it! Love this car!
Good gas saver,reliable
Suspension and motor mounts wear out
It’s a good car,has all the basic functions without the unnecessary electronics and gadgets of cars nowdays, has potential considering the Lancer Evolution 7,8 and 9 were built on a similar platform,if you want a good reliable gas saver this is a good option.
Reliable, Light, Zippy
Limited storage space, Limited comfort
A solid day to day driver, light, zippy, and relatively comfortable with little frills. It was my first car, and I almost wish it could be my last car, but as I update for the first time in 2023, I look back at this car that survived teenager youtube-educated maintenance, constant driving from delivery work, some scrapes, tumbles, and plenty of abuse, and was still running much better than it had any right to be. I put 150,000 miles through it, and if I had the proper knowledge, I'm certain I could get another 150,000 or more. Treat the car well, it deserves it. Because it will keep running even if you ride it hard and put it away wet.
No
Not
The only way I would ever want you is to get it from the doctor or something and I will take you there but you don’t want me here because you have nothing else going to get you to get you something else so you can take me to get it to you I will be here until you come back and you don’t need me here and I don’t have a problem you
If you think kbb dictates the price of these cars, and I went a looked at 6 of them and tried to negotiate down and owners where like nope I'll ust keep it. Good luck trying to buy it off the owner for that. They would not let em go unless they get what they want. Nor will I, I paid over kbb and if I sell it I want even over what I paid. 05 evo 8 59k miles paid 28.5k valued on kbb for 24k. I've restored paint and minor things brought it up to maintenance and I will not sell unless I get 30k+.
Awesome to drive
Haven't been able to find another for sale!
Great performance, great fuel mpg 26mpg with ac, 33-36 without ac. Comfortable to drive and ride in!
easy to drive, plenty of passing power, reliable,
not very pretty, but neither are Toyota
Over 210,000 miles and engine is still real strong...easy and fun to drive....great car and good on gas. Mitsubishi is just as reliable and dependable as Toyota for sure..
Fun to drive
Expensive repairs
This car is an absolutely great buy in any condition, yes the resale value isn't very good and parts are expensive but the amount of joy that can come out of driving it is beyond anything you can get for a daily i really enjoy it
