Great car for the money! With a simple strut upgrade You can step right into Auto cross, or spend a few hundred on a turbo & fuel components and be running 400 awhp, smashing mustangs/vetts/camaros etc.. Very comforting ride, Love how the interior curves around and just feels very safe.. Do the maintenance BY THE BOOK. These are Turbo cars and if you even skimp them a little it will bite you. Taken care of, There's not a better car in my opinion.

I purchased my 1999 Eclipse GS with 80,000 miles and in the past year I have put almost $1500 worth of repairs into it. The brakes went out completely while driving on the highway, it took a month and a half for them to fix the car. I had to replace the coolant temperature gage and another loud squealing sound it started to make. This has been the worst car I have ever even imagined spending $10,000 on. Lately it has had a strange smell when idling and it shakes hard when driving over 70 mph. I haven't looked into any of this because I will be trading it in ASAP. Don't go for the cute car, buy the reliable one. You will be much happier in the long run.

Great looking,good gas saver,fast
Oil leaks,brittle door handles
Beautiful ageless style,drives like a sports car and it’s economic at the same time,reliable,fast,cool,and ofcourse as we all know,it can be modified to look like the Fast and the Furious Eclipse,both the 420a 2.0 non-turbo engine and the 4g63T 2.0 Turbocharged engines are both reliable when taken cared of and if you keep up with maintenance yull have a car that will last over 200k miles no problem,only issues I’ve run into are the oil leaks on the 4g63 and the difficulty with changing the timing belt on the 420a,other than that the door handles are brittle and the window regulators can get a little stuck.

1996 Black Spyder 25 years old. Left qtr. window doesn't go down. Everything works AC and top. Recently passed smog in California with strict emissions standard. See it on YouTube. Beautiful design.
This car is showroom complete! ! Won best import...best compact sport many times throughout NW Indiana.......but, KBB SAYS A "fair private party price" 3000!!! Come on man!! Try around 58k !!

Not exactly roomie for people in the back seats
My experience with this car was great ! It was given to me in 2010 and I had it for several years . I finally had to junk it in 2016 ! It was like a part of the family ! I miss it dearly I plan on getting another one ! Soon hopefully a stick shift I would prefer the color blue .
Needs the power steering pump replaced and then this classic near mint condition convertible with extremely LOW mileage for the manufactured year, is ready for summer cruising; including 6 speaker Pioneer in dash AM/FM CD USB receiving that rocks. Very fun car!! Ultra White w/ Black Cloth top is stunning!!
